Gamma Correction

Can we get a gamma correction slider in the full release? I love the game, but I end up sleeping nights even when healthy because the screen is a dark blur. Given that NPCs don't seem to have any problems, I don't think this is a gameplay descision.

it would be nice to be able to make it as easy to seee as possible during the day too.

I suppose it would be useful, but i have no trouble seeing at night whatsoever. Did you try turning up your monitor brightness? If that doens't work you could always try adjusting your video card options, most have a gamma setting.

I'm running a nvidia geforce 4, if there is a way to crank up the brightness I don't know about it, i always rely on internal settings in games.

I can't be the only one thinking this though.

That would be very usefull for me. My monitor is dark as hell and becouse of that, night battles are a pain in the ass.

Your monitor itself should have ways to adjust its brightness, contrast, etc. Look for buttons on the front.

Try right clicking on your desktop, go to properties, then settings, then advanced. Then just look and fiddle around, thats where mine is located.

I think this gamma problem is an hardware compatibility issue. I've tested M&B on two PCs, a P866Mhz 512mb RAM ATI Radeon 9200, and it has no problems, then I tried it (demo version) on a P1200Mhz 256mb RAM Matrox G400, and while during the day visibility is identycal, at night is so blurred it becames impossible to play.

Note that in this second PC monitor gamma and luminosity (or watheveter is called in english) both were at 95/100, while in the first one they were considerably lower (around 75).

The odd thing is that during day battles visuals were identical on both computers, maybe even brighter on the second one because of the higher monitor gamma.

Get Powerstrip. (Google it).

Either manually configure a colour profile for M&B or just hit ctrl+alt+keypad plus a few times in-game.

On my mom's computer the monitor screen is darker, and on Sid Meier's Pirates! I had to use the gamma correction to see in the towns at night. So I support the in game gamma correction.

Hint for noobies: if you suddenly find yourself in a night battle, you can press the Esc key to invoke the options menu and thereby pause the game while you're adjusting the video board and/or monitor settings.

Also: some video boards have separate settings for "desktop" and "full screen 3D".
