We decided not to attend E3 this year and instead focus all of our attention on finishing the game. We will be at Gamescom though, so see you there!
Take what you want from this statement.
Yes well "finishing the game" does not necessarily mean they are close to finishing. It certainly sounds like that, but ive seen people look into things devs/mods here say all the time and its never as meaningful as they think. Besides, in the dev blog Callum says "The preparations needed to attend an event such as E3 takes a lot of time, effort and resources, and right now we think it is better to focus on the development of the game". Most we can do is hope that he let slip that they are finishing the game in that post XD
What I took from that is ; "we would rather work on the game than attend an event but we will attend gamescom." That in it self says something.

To me it means they can't afford to go to California but can make it to Germany  :iamamoron:

No, it means they don't want to spend the time preparing for the trip. We only see the final result of these events, but behind the scenes is painstaking preparation that redirects time and effort from development.

That's probably the most accurate interpretation. The others aren't wrong, but I think the biggest part is putting in the time/money/effort for two conferences when there's work to be done at home. Better to have one big showing and nail it than risk having two mediocre ones.

Yup, not to mention E3 and Gamescom are only two months apart. Two months isn't much in the game development world.

I've found Gamescom to be more entertaining than E3 anyway.

Turkey was the partner country of gamescom in 2016 , so TW can get more attention in gamescom than E3

My expectation graph is through the roof, this is kind of the last boat. I say that every year though, so disregard me

It'll just be Callum standing in an empty booth, handing out photocopies of the fag-packet where he hastily scribbled that week's Devblog in the taxi on his way to the conference.

ouch. I can sense a mute in your near future.

 I do hope not! I was just poking fun at the kind of spiteful creatures, all too common on this forum, who might actually think that for real. I'm sorry if my attempt at a joke seemed to be contributing to the unfortunately quite toxic general atmosphere on this forum. It was intended to raise a smile rather than people's hackles.

For the record, the Devblogs are the only reason I visit this forum, and they are the only reason I'm maintaining an interest in the game. I enjoy them; I like the way they are written, I'm happy with the content, and I look forward to my coffee-break read about Bannerlord every week.

I certainly wouldn't come here if all there was to do was participate in the bile-fueled exchanges in the Discussion section. If I wanted to regularly engage in malicious games of sarcastic one-upmanship, I'd... I dunno... get married or something?

I'm sure Gamescom will be be a good show of Bannerlord's progress. My hope is that they choose the event to reveal details of the development timeline - they evidently aren't going to talk about that in the weekly blogs, but the journalists at Gamecom will certainly press them on it, so they'll need some kind of answer up their sleeve. I'm not terribly interested in exciting new gameplay footage at this point - all that will be revealed to me when I get to play the thing - but it would be nice to know roughly how long that'll be. I'm hopeful they will be able to say something in that vein by August.

I think vicwiz was referring to "fag-packet". Given that this is english slang (for cigarettets), though, and you clearly didn't use it as a homophobic slur, there is no reason for us to mute you.

Really hoping for more campaign info. But just so you don`t get your hopes all up for huge info dump, so far they`ve usually showcased one specific thing like Captain mode, Sergeant Mode, or siege defense. I expect they`ll be focusing on something specific this year as well, I just hope it`ll be single player related.

+ 1
I play for the single player.

M&B: Battle Royale

I am really mixed about that, nowadays they beat devs who dont include that mode.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they added it. As far as I’m aware Bannerlord would be the first Medieval Battle Royale. I’m all for it.

My only problem is if this is a last second addition that's slowing things down. Release main game first, and battle royale as an update or dlc or something. I'd want to try it, but I know I'm going to put most hours into SP or maybe regular MP.
