In Progress Game wont start

second update out, won't open though steam, opening native.exe brings up the load screen for a few seconds before CTD. the one without native doesn't do anything. bah, going to go play Rimworld.

Mine opens, loads with the start picture and after about 20 seconds it reports mount and blade 2 bannerlord has stopped working.

Nothing happens for me when I try launching the game from steam. If i launch from bannerlord.exe I get a loading screen with a picture for about 30 sec before it crashes.

Yeah, even if I managed to launch via Bannerlord.exe, it cannot stop crashing. It crashes on everything:
  • I press Multiplayer, starts loading and crashes;
  • I start a campaign, the tutorial seems to work but when I press Tab it crashes;
  • I start a campaign, skip the tutorial, attempt to save (Save As) and it crashes;
  • I open the game, click Continue and guess what;
I think it has something to do with the inability to launch via Steam directly. I did send all the dumps.

Edit: Oh, it also does not save my settings, so I have to readjust it all the time on each startup.

Updated all that is being recommended, still, when I launch the game and I press "play" I get a white screen with the game cursor, as soon as I press the left click, windows reports that the game is not responding and game crashes and prompt me to send the crash dump that I do.

I have the same, crash on startup, it goes white screen, then splash image while horse/banner moves in the corner, then crash to desktop with no errors.

I have installed everything in this thread https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/game-failing-crashing-at-launch.397007/ that can be installed as some of my stuff is newer.

I updated windows and drivers and the same issue. I tried the display_mode = 0 in the config, I have no overlays on, I have verified cache.

I have a AMD 1950x Threadripper, 32GB ram, 1080ti.

Updated all drivers and updated windows and all C++ and .Net framework went into the event Viewer and got these messages

Same issue here,

Just purchased the game on Steam and installed, however it won't open. When I click play it says "X Stop" like its running, then goes back to "Play" a second later. I'm not sure the application is opening. When I ran the .exe launcher it just brought up a white screen with the error:
"Unable to find module info file in $BASE/Modules/Native/engine_module.ini"

Here's what I've tried so far:
Verified integrity of game files
Disabled antivirus
Restarted PC, full power off
Launched steam as administrator
Installed C++ 2015 redistributable

Still no dice, help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sea Bear
Finally got mine working. Updated Windows and it fixed the issue

Allright boys, i have a confession to make.

I followed Callums post in how to attempt a fix, reinstalled all Net. and Microsoft Visuals C++, also added Bannerlords to my exemptions in anti-virus and firewall.
Updated Windows Update and my drivers were up to date, but i still had the same problem as you now, now here's how i fixed it so the game actually starts, and so far it has gotten me into the main menu.

On Windows 10, if you open "National settings" go to the other tab "Administrative settings"

"Languages for programs that doesn't support Unicode" change that to your language if it isn't already. (I'm Swedish so the translation might be wrong)
I'll shamefully admit that mine was on Japanese some old japanese borderline porn games back in the day and couldn't be bothered to change it.

This was my last change and it did get me into the main menu from Steam, not sure if it will work for everyone.

In English it says Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support. I tried clicking this box with my local being English (United States) and game still does not load. Is this what you did?

I tried changing the setting you metioned. No luck for me. It was on my own language, but I changed to english, just to check.
