Tried the combat proto... and. woah.

I just love how the ships momentum is conserved when say, flipping it around 180 degree's ect
I am thrilled. Absolutely thrilled.

Does anyone else get these exception errors that CTD the game? I get one every 5 minutes.

Yeah, go to the foums, you have to download OpenAl, or i did, now i can play good.

so, i guess i might see some of you in there (there is only 2 servers after all.)

Actually I can't download it.I can't find the link.I am a stupid.Literally.

Yeah, it's in a weird place.

ok, go to the home page, go to the 1.0 release area, go to the 'dedicated webpage', then scroll down a bit until you get to the 'download and status; section, and the link is there (as well as server status)

Haha! I got Sneaky twice last night, and vice versa.

I hate it when you start spinning uncontrollable and can't stop

I'll try it, when the servers are up and if my overclocked computers can handle it.

practically anthing runnnig a p3 1000mhz plus could probably run it, but putting shaders on makes it about twice as hard to run (it enables textures)

*bump*

Wow.... Just wow.

just a new ship that's been modled for infinity. It's about 5km long, and the little ship in the last photo is about 20m long.

That amount of detail is amazing. I wish I could model that good (however I dont have anything better than wings)

Well, if you or anyone else is interested in modeling, perhaps you should look at the contributions section here to get some advice

If they can combine the "go anywhere" freedom with the spirit of the original "Privateer" and piloting finesse required in "Darklight: Conflict", I will be ecstatic.  There has been a dearth of quality space-flight games in the past few years.  "X2: The Threat" and "X3: Reunion" made me want to cry, they had so much wasted potential - and don't even get me started on "Freelancer."

Even though this is being set up as an MMO (not really my thing), it seems as though the developers have a true passion for the genre; I will be watching this game very closely.  Thanks for the heads-up, Randy!

F**k me!

This is SO going to be my number 1 game right now...

Look at the ship scales - assuming that they will really be scaled like that, it will make Freespace 2 look insignificant in comparison and Freespace 2 is awesome when it comes to scales...

That fact alone is selling me on this game.  I'm replaying FS2 at the moment (running with the Vasudan navy in the nebula) and the game is huge!  Is very easy to forget how fast you move.  When you try and fly around the Colossus or the Shivan Juggernaut, you remember.  You remember and curse vehemently.

Heh... I can imagine it once many people start to play it. Billions of planets. Each one fully crowded by noobs asking for 5 credits

But seriously, it would be so amazingly cool to go back to your home planet after a year of fighting on another, and find a war raging there. Or worse, gone.

Ofcourse that would happen and i hope that when planets die they become black holes sucking everything near them and invisible, that will make players REAAAAAAALLLLYYY careful, and the darth vader wannabes will attempt to do just that

Wow. That was good. Silverkatana was there, as well. Amazing detail on the explosions.

  I can't play the prototype!!  My hardware does not support vertex shaders, ignoring it just closes it.
