No Stronghold Crusader? Are you retarded?

Irrelevant.

Arnolf Floyd is not learned enough to limit himself to such a specific setting.

Wrong.

Stronghold Crusader has a soundtrack composed by Robert L. Euvino, whose name is too similar to the Lenovo brand of laptops. We can’t be having that can we? Robert Lenovo?! The game is exempt!

Why would you play Stronghold Crusader anyway, when Stronhgold 2 is clearly the best game of the entire series?

It’s free, unfinished and ****.

No population mechanic = game sucks.

The quality level of a game is linked inextricably to your ability to turn a small family on a farm into a gigantic sprawling metropolis, and the ability to consider the implications of that. Better still is to have a population mechanic so unbalanced that your cities explode out of control, and you wage war to waste your male population in battle rather than to defend/expand.

Black and white 2 and Rome Total War are good games.

Sorry, but do you think Stronghold 2 is a good game? Stronghold 2?
Yes, I do. I haven't played it in years, mind you, but there was a time when I played quite a lot of it. It's got its shortcomings, but I thought it did some things quite well. The complexity of town management, for instance. I've heard some people bash it, but I enjoyed it. Also, castle building and sieges.

I've played Rome Total War, I like more than Medieval 2 despite graphics, is currently my second fav game

Starts in the 1400s and goes to the 1680's. Mods extend it into the 18th century but you don't have to play them. AI can be pretty challenging even on the easiest difficulty. The really fun thing is when your AI opponent gets surprise reinforcements that materialize in your flanks.

http://www.slitherine.com/products/583/details/Pike.and.Shot.Campaigns. It is available on Steam.

I also suggest Crusader Kings 2 however it has some RPG elements in that you can mold your character somewhat through your actions and there is more of a "family life" in addition to governin' and fightin'.

Sounds like **** tbh. Slitherine games just feel like massive rip-offs to me, owing to the generally atrocious UI and controls, barely passable graphics for 2000s strategy games, unreasonable price tags, bad and repetitive music, game mechanics which were outdated before I got internet at home and don't improve with any of their newer games either, and a general lack of effort.

Also they've been milking the Close Combat franchise like crazy. Need to get every single drop of milk out of that bad boy! What's that, you'd like us to update the graphics (like the CC games did before we took it over)? Nah, just buy these "NEW" Close Combat games which are LITERALLY. THE. SAME. ****ING. GAMES. as the old ones, but three times as expensive and released ten years later! For ****'S SAKE!

More like ****herine, am I right?
