The Missing Ransom Brokers fix

Looks like some taverns are missing Entry Point 41 on which a ransom broker is spawned, leading to him being inaccessible (most of the times).

Adding the Entry point helps, and so far the following defective taverns were found:

Myrth, Aquos Dhaes, Lys (does not have the Broker, but still)... There may be others too.

Looks like editing itemkinds.txt leads to some weirdness? But it is unclear if ANY edit will do that, or some particular edits only. Anyway, it is a .txt file, can be edited with pretty much anything, just not so convenient...
Huh that's weird. I've been editing items and troops with Morgh's and I haven't got any issue whatsoever.

locochombok 说:
I still can't do it, i have modifided it with Morgh's but it doesn't seem to work.
Well it should've worked. Just to be sure. You need to press Update first after you edit the flags, and then you Save. If you want me to try fix it for you, just tell me the names of the swords and I'll send the item_kinds1.txt to you via PM.

No problem, i figured out that with some things, items and troops that are already in the game, the change of stats would not work, i need to make a new game in order to make them work properly, by the way, i have been playing with troop editing and make my own version of essos troop trees from tavern faction mercenaries based obviously on the original ones, it feels richer, i might post them when i finish them as a suggestion for the next version.

What I know is that you only need a new game when you add or remove items or troops, and stat or flag changes are safe compatible, but well, what works works I guess. Glad you sorted that out.

Anyway, I got a message about a cattle accident that might make The North go to war with The Three Sisters. They haven't gone to war yet, but does this mean Westerosi diplomacy can be unlocked?

Changes to troop stats do not break savegames, but they do not take effect on an existing savegame either. Inventory changes (for non-hero troops) do take effect.

Yes, diplomacy gets unlocked gradually, but that event may happen before diplomacy unlocks for participating factions, and then it will have no effect.

Oh cool! I didn't know that. So what triggers diplomacy to unlock? Quests? Time? The event happened in-game weeks after I did the Night's Watch quest that caused the Red Wedding. It would be fun to get the Vale go to war.

The stormlands conquered King's Landing at day 69 and wiped out the lannister family in the process (i recieved a message telling me Renly has killed Cersei, Tommen, Joffrey, etc...) and twin made peace with everyone, is it normal? What happend next? Who will kill Rob? I mean, i dont remember that happening before with longer saves, but i guess i have to wait to see whats next.

Yes, this event is in the mod for some years now.

Lis of scenes missing Entry Point 41 updated:

Myr, Myrth, Aquos Dhaen, Lys

By the way, i have noticed that Slavers Bay is maped, and you can actually be rigth there, so wahya don't include some of the three independent cities, it could be a single faction with an event where daenerys takes over them (i don't know, after a good amount of ingame days) and declares war to Volantis with grey worm as vassal (only or mostly unsullied in his army), daario with second sons, some dothraki general with dothraki riders, and i don't know, ser barristan with sellswords, maybe jorah too. I think it would be a good idea, i know that there is already a Targeryen invasion, but this could be different, happening to the other side of the world.

Or do you have any idea if they will include some of this in future versions?

Throwing a pot of wildfire triggers error codes in quest scenes (last stage of Tourney of Ninestars with the Templeton brothers, the quest with the wight necromancers) it also seems to be useless, nerfed to all hell. Does **** all against wights.

Confirmed. They did nothing when thrown and the charges go back to 3 after the quest.

The Player-copycat bug still exists, but differently. They now exist as a villager party on their own. There's no other peasant units in that party. Just player copycat alone. I haven't seen any of them as prisoners. They also last pretty long when attacked by bandits despite being a party of 1 unit. I haven't seen them lose because I always help or leave them, so I don't know what happens if they do. Not sure if this info would be useful or not, but in this save, I played as a freelancer for 100-ish days (to get knighted for RP) and now as a mercenary for another 100-ish.

Another minor modelling bug. The female version of Lannister Cuiras has the shoulder guard not "feminized" correctly (westerland_king.1 mesh). This cause the shoulder guard to be too long and go well above the character's shoulder. I already fixed it myself, but due to some hijinks with Wings3D I lost some vertices, resulting in different texture mapping (which I lack the skill to fix), so I'm not gonna share it. Not sure why tho. Probably because it does automatic smoothing or something. It doesn't look bad. Just slightly different.

The Lannister light plate also doesn't have a female frame yet, but it's easy to do with OpenBrf and the result looks good.

Also, I love the new quests you can get from enemy lords. It gives really great flavor to the game.

It exists in the same manner as previously, but villagers tend to get killed fast, leading to single doppleganger parties. The Player doppleganger is immortal on the campaign map at least as long as the Player does not get reduced to 0 HP.

A question - did you use auto-save (realistic mode) when you encountered this bug?

Bug:

When defending Rosby, the attacking troops... basically never attacked. 1k Riverlanders against the garrison, brought in about 100 troops. They did the slow walk up to the moat/stream in front of the walls, stayed there for a little while, then walked up to the walls, then nothing. I re-positioned all the archers and troops away from the breaches (there are two ladders) because I thought my troops might have been bugging the AI. Didn't work. After about 30 minutes, no more than 5 enemy troops came up the ladders, and one of those I had to bait by running all the way down the ladders.

Battle Size settings: 150, version 7.1

I always play on realistic mode, yes. If it's the same then alright. It just looked different to me because I have encountered this bug many times in this playthrough, but I've never seen them with villagers at all. Previously I only saw them as prisoners.

Edit:
I just fixed a minor but glaring graphical glitch on Linux. Banners on lances will appear white as if the texture is not loaded at all. This is caused by the waving_flag_shader used by the banners' materials, which doesn't work on Linux cuz reasons. The rgl_log says it doesn't know the technique flag_wave_shader.

The solution is to simply change the shader used by those materials (named pendant_* in file ACOK_1_3_Textures.brf) to tex_mul_color_mul_factor_alpha (or the no_shade shader) with OpenBrf. If you're a Linux pleb like me and are having a problem with white banners, just do this fix yourself.

Edit 2:
God damn isn't it fun to win tournaments by slamming a Lannister flag into their faces.

Probably Rosby is defined in #parties as having a belfry/siege tower, but the scene itself does not have the belfry/siege tower. In this case besieging player just orders his troops to charge... The AI just does not know what to do...

You can fix it for your game either
  • via a Savegame editor by editing Rosby party to have no belfry;
  • or by changing scene file to one with a siege tower and changing terrain code to a corresponding one (in scenes.txt);
  • or by editing the scene and adding the tower and waypoints (entry points) for it (which is least recommended, because it may be bothersome)...
EDIT: Incomplete List of Scenes not having Siege Towers while Partie's #hasbelfry=1:

Rosby
Iron Holt.

EDIT: Incomplete List of Tavern Scenes missing Ransom Broker's entry point 41:

Aquos Dhaen
Lys
Mhysa Faer
Myrth

I read that some of you are editing with Morgh's and do not experience bugs as a result.  :???:

Can't figure out what might be causing this for me. I've tried an unedited version and even other mods but don't experience any bugs with them, just seeks to be ACOK whenever I change things up (specifically, I edit Parties and Party Templates in addition to Troops and Items. For Troops and Items I do not add anything, just edit existing things.)

Ah, that's probably why. I've never touched parties or party templates. EXP does seem related to parties, so it's probably that.

On an unrelated note, my character became a Lannister last night. Finally.

By the way, Ser Gio of House Morozov. Can you give us a quick .txt fix that restores ransom brokers in Westeros? You seem to be fixing scenes all over. I need that slave income.

I do not think there is a quick .txt fix for this.

Scene editing (adding entry point 41) just allows already present ransom brokers to spawn in accessible area, but if they are not present - it does nothing.

However, there is a ransom broker in Hull, who you can use.

High Tide Lord's Hall and similar scenes have a floating cup. This cup was the one from which the skeleton was drinking in vanilla Warband.

Used to be pretty good. However, there are simply too many bugs this time out. I'll try it again after a couple of patches. Additionally, I've always thought it would help if undesirable behaviors could be disabled. It's interesting that the only mod where troops line up correctly when advanced formations are turned off is Pendor. Why is that?
