I'm completely puzzled. All the eastern factions are now dressed like 15th century European soldiers. Everyone and their grandma wears a sallet now and all the eastern armors from previous patches are gone.

saw in the troop-editor that there are 3 winterfell-soldiers (archer, serjeant and man at arms). but i cant recruit this special unit in the game. there is no option in winterfell to get them. Other special units like Karstark Archer or Lannister Spearmen are recruitable at their hometowns. where can i make the stark troop recruitable in winterfell?

They are (or were, in previous version) used in a quest. Not recruitable.

Also I wonder, where is the castellan of Ninestars...

Okay, so while loading the game to the start menu by 75% I either get a regular runtime error or Warband has stopped working message.

Is there any settings that should be put on in the configuration? Does it not go well with forcing single threading? Do I load textures on demand?


I have a 970 and an 8310, I doubt my rig is the problem.

You would need mod source files, or a great skill at reading compiled Python files. I lack both.

I have a 970 and an 8310, I doubt my rig is the problem.

1. Redownload.
2. Use <<load textures on demand>>
3. Use lower texture quality.
4. Tell us the results.

People were talking about download difficulties and related crashes, but I did not find any real bugs in there.
 
Tried editing with Morgh's, added a few items and troops and this seems to cause the game to crash continuously, and always around 10-30 seconds after starting a new game. 'Load Textures on Demand' is on.

Items that I added work fine ingame and so do the new troops. I've double-checked to make sure there are no broken links in Party Templates or with new units and new items too so I'm not sure what could be causing these crashes other than the act of including new troops itself.

Has anyone tried customizing with Morgh's and run into a similar issue?

I've edited troops and items, but I did not <<add>> anything this time. No crashes detected.
May be something shady with the stuff you are adding.

Trying to find the root of the problem. Could you perhaps test if adding new troops affects your game as well? I had no problems editing existing troops but the second I added some my game started crashing. I just want to know if this is caused by me or something between the game and my computer.

I've added a new troop, started new game - works normally. Even tested if not keeping last troop's id "trp_troops_end" will cause a crash - nope.

Also, why would you <<add>> troops while there are plenty of unused troops to edit?
 
I remember if you add more than 1 item will make the old saves crush. Starting a new game should work. Maybe it's the thing you are adding.

Stop messing with the items, it will cause your game to crash. The module adds a trigger to the items that will get screwed up with you just edit it with Morghs.

Stop messing with the items, it will cause your game to crash. The module adds a trigger to the items that will get screwed up with you just edit it with Morghs.

Thanks for clearing that up, does adding/editing troops mess with the game similarly?

EDIT: Also, is this a bug/unintended side-effect of the new patch or was it added purposely? I really wanted to import stuff and bring in some of the unused armors meshes.
 
Good god, where the hell did all the color go, and why does everything look like it's smeared in crap? Virtually everything is now some shade of brown.

In one of the update articles it says he was going for a 'more dark and used look' to the world. But I agree a lot of the remaining armors look quite bland, a glaring example being the Reach knights going from colorful and highly decorative to just men in grey steel and Vale knights wearing the rusty-looking armor that used to be worn by Dragonstone knights in previous patches.

I noticed a lot of the more 'colorful' armors still exist in the files and are labelled for units not currently in the game but were perhaps intended to be used at a later update.


Anyways, I like most of the NEW content that's been added but here's my critiques of the mod's current incarnation:

1. High saturation causes strange lighting, sunsets overly red and sometimes there's a strange greenish tinge to the world.

2. Music is still repetitive, some more variety is needed.

3. Even less variety in armors and weapons now. When I look into the files, there are tons of unused assets that look great. Why not bring them back?

4. The Essos troops lack any distinct characteristics, the troop trees don't make a whole lot of sense either, especially lore-wise. While the Free Cities use slaves, the majority of their fighting forces are sellswords. I'd like to make the suggestion of making their armies made up of three groups: slave soldiers, sellswords and citizen troops. Sellswords being the bulk, slave soldiers being a fodder type force and the citizen troops being more elite types but fewer in number. Of course, not all cities would use slaves.

5. 'Dark and more used look' is fine, but dark and used doesn't necessarily removing color. The previous patch already had that atmosphere down, and it made sense that bandits and sellswords would wear more drab looking clothes, but now everyone does too.
