And there Ned explains Bran exactly this as his son points out he wants to become a knight.
I told nothing more or less than that the North has no "knights"...

You are right, they do not have a lot of knights, cause the old faith does not have knighthood, but some of the northmen have the seven as theire gods. Lord Manderly of Whiteharbor has a lot of knights. Even one guys of House Greyjoy who visited the "greenlands" for a long time is a knight, but the most of the ironborn make fun of him. But the north have cavalery even if they are not knights. Does knighthood make a men a better fighter? I don't think so, look at Sandor Clegane!

So if you have read the books before, read them again and look close  Lord Manderly is with Bolton at the end of book 4/5 and he brings a lot of knights with him. Of course, the Riverlands, the Vale and the Westerlands have much more of them, but at least every 1 of 10 riding men in the north army is a knight.

Sorry for my english, i'm german and don't speak english that often.

Well, yes kinda. Knights are raised in knighthood and practice fighting every day to become a ultimate fighter. Ofcourse there still are good soldiers that are not knights but pretty much almost every knight is knighted cause they are good fighters.

The term "Knight" in this mod, and if you think about it in the books as well, is just a word. They're not better soldiers. They're not all like Sandor or Jaime. There are plenty of knights who are just regular guys, maybe with better equipment and a horse. That's about it. So whether or not the North employs "knights" as their elite cavalry doesn't even matter. In the mod, they can be compared to the other factions' knights. They're just not called knights because the majority of the North still have the Old Gods as their religion. If you REALLY wanted the North to have "knights" then just edit the troop file to call them Northern Knights.

It's a very minor point with an easy fix/change. Not something that needs to be argued about.

But as Finje said there are non knights that are excellent fighters (Sandor Clegane) And perhaps just add a new troop tree for White Harbour? The same option for every other town (except the northern towns) I don't know crap about modding but i don't think it's very hard. But it's up to Cozur

Not all Knights are noble-born. And if you're not noble-born, you most likely weren't raised and trained to be a knight. And yes, Sandor was not a knight. But only because he refused knighthood. And on average, the Knights of Westeros couldn't compare to Sandor, Jaime, Barristan etc etc.

Anyways, My point was that "Knights" in the traditional sense weren't as common in the North compared to the rest of Westeros. There still men who were ESSENTIALLY knights, in all but title. But in general, the North's elite cavalry not being named Northern Knights is really a minor thing. Personally, I don't think it would be worth the time to make a completely unique unit for one or two castles in the North. Unless of course, Cozur had planned on making more unique troops in certain locations anyways. IE, the Goldcloaks of King's Landing.

Barristan and Jaime were knights so not really the greatest comparison  I'm fully aware of the north not having many knights and not gonna argue about that but i think it's truly worth putting it in.

How exactly does the seafaring system work in this mod? Is it only possible to enter a ship through towns or are there other ways to board them?
Is there a hotkey for boarding ships?

Obviously you don't remember Luwin's conversation with Bran. Not all cavalrymen are knights, and vice versa.

Hey Cozur. Theres quite a big selection of higher tier armour available ingame already, including several sets of of plate mail.

I'd love to see other Lords and Kings wearing this armour. I find it hard to believe the player is the only one in the entire land able to afford plate armour.

Does anyone have any tips on making money? It's quite hard for me to loot enemy villages without getting swarmed by Lannisters. Should start trading instead?

Raid outskirts of the realms. If you choose to join up with Tywin, get good relations and a castle and trade it with Casterly rock (it works:eek:) Or yes, trade but i find it extremly hard :c

Here something for ya:
Buy date fruit and fur in dragonstone and sell in maidenpool, VERY easy money, like 8000 in 1 day in game!
Good Luck

Does anyone have tips on how to be a Vassal? Apparently being a Knight and fought loads of battles against their enemies isn't enough for them to trust me. I did it before, but that worked just when I was Swordsman. Any suggestions?

For what i remember, to be a vassal needs at least 250 renown, you have it?

I think something is wrong with my game, dunno if just beta or not working xD.

A few things:
- Warband crashed with Postfx.fx error when running on max settings, Ultra, High, and Medium. It does not crash on low.
- Warband also crashed when alt+Enter to window.
- I noticed in tournyments, the HUD's do not work, such as people on the team, etc.

All I have noticed so far, more maybe to come. Hopefully not xD

1-Maybe your pc isn't enough to run the game, my pc is a crap, but i run in all minimum and directX7, try it.
2-Well....That can be a lot of things, that was happening to me when i was using too much of my pc
3-That is estrange...maybe a error from some text, the 9.3 have some weird bugs, but that don´t happen to me, try reinstall if this really make a difference to you.

Good Luck
And Sorry for my English, is not my native Language.

I dont think my PC is the problem :p

I can run the game, every mod, at max at 120FPS nonstop.

The mod is buggy af but its BETA.

I also found that when you have Detailed Particles on FPS drops like crazy, when off. Smooth as butter 120FPS.

"Testing armors" is my current excuse for playing cRPG and not working on this mod. This is ideally the armor/weapon combination I have in my head for the Stark House guard or whatever, at least that's what's indicated in the show. The standard troops would carry and assortment of shields and other weapon combinations.

lol, so I started playing a Game of Thrones mod for Skyrim the other day. And I noticed the armor they used looked a LOT like the models you've been showing us here. I was actually going to say something about it, until I realized you did those ones as well! I didn't think it was possible, but you just got even more awesome, Bilwit.

Many good fighters aren't knights, while others are knights and fight like a child with a f***ing cheeseknife. Bronn wasn't a knight for a long time (until the Battle of the Blackwater) but he killed many knights.

You are not going to be a Knight just by raise in the most cases. Of course, it could happen (Bronn), but as a Knight you need lands, people and a lot of money. A guy raised to a knight just because he is a good fighter, has nothing in common with a real knight except of the name. Real knights are knights because they where raised for this job. A knight isn't equal with a good fighter of course, there are such things as housholdknights, siting around at court und attenting the king and such things.

Tips for making money: Buy iron at Dragonstone and the neighbor island city or Lannisport and its neighboring city. It's like ~60 for "tempered iron" which is the best iron you can possibly get. You can sell it at a lot of places, even nearby (visit multiple places since the prices go down for every iron you sell in a town), but in average you should get at least 700 denars for each "tempered iron" and still enough for the other iron.
Buying lands is only a recommendation for the late game when you know for sure that you will stay at a certain place.
For the time you are a sellsword/soldier I would recommend buying velvet productive enterprises all over the world. Though they give you less than they initially think they get (like 400 instead of 800 every week) it's still a viable option...

Btw a question: Can I sell lands? Because it always tells me the sell price, but I never actually see any option for selling...

A true knight has his knighthood bequethed upon him BECAUSE he was a good fighter. They are in exsitance to protect. Defend the weak. Defend the king. Fight his wars. Blah Blah Blah. That being said, not all knights are equal. They're purpose (as it was in said mediveal era) was soley based upon prowess in combat. Hence why lords gave knights land, small plots. To defend in, in the case of invasion. Defend the people. Defend the crops. Defend the riches.

Totally, Lancel Lannister was absolutely knighted for his superior fighting skill and not because be bedded Cersei.

Gregor Clegane is a superior fighter to 90% of westerosi warriors, knights or not. Anyway, his behaviour is all but Chivalric...
