Game not starting in Steam. Any advice?

When I click on play in Steam the game does not launch. I tried to run it as admin but nothing. Verified files etc. Any tip?

Go to this path: C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband and rename profiles.dat file to something else, like profiles.datx. Then try to run Warband. The file, if corrupted, prohibits the game from starting (maybe it is the culprit).
