Game just stopped working

I downloaded the game the other day and I've been having a lot of fun just in the starting town fighting in the arena. Explorer tended to crash when I exited the game but I wasn't that bothered about that. However, since today, the game stops immediately when I load the save game, or when I finish creating a character.

It gives an error : 'Unable to create render target texture'. On the taskbar the window is called 'RGL ERROR'. Then I am back to the desktop and explorer crashes as it did before and I restart the PC.

My specs are very low, but it was working before (I changed some settings and had it running at about 35 fps in the areas I was in).

Win 98
PIII 500
256 RAM
NVIDIA TNT2 64

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Edit : Oh yeah ... I have updated DirectX to 9.0c and also updated to the latest drivers for the graphics card. Edited in the exact error message too.

This is probably stupid to ask but have you tried reinstalling?

Yeah I forgot to say that, I have uninstalled and then reinstalled. I haven't tried downloading it again yet but I guess that's next.

Well .. now it is working fine again. I went in a changed the graphics options in the client to all disabled and it is fine. I didn't change them back after the reinstall. But it's still a bit odd, because I hadn't enabled them when it suddenly stopped working initially.

lol well it's great you got it working again , But , whoo...time for a upgrade eh? its not 1998 anymore
