Game Freeze on Battle/Town Screen

I haves started having game Freezes intermittently when I:

1) Enter a town and click on an option on the town screen.
2) Enter a battle and click on on an option.

The game completely freezes and requires me to pull the power to restart. Its not a heating issue, my video card drivers are up to date, and I have not had this problem with any other games. It had been playing just fine up until today, though it has happened 3 times in the last hour.

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3, 2 GB Corsair XMS Ram, Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53, ATI Radeon 4650, ASUS P5QL Pro, Onboard Audio.

If it's locking up there's probably an error message behind the game. Try minimising and see if you can spot one. If that fails, try hitting enter and see if it closes.

Check event viewer and see if the application or system log picked up anything that could be causing the crash.

IIRC for XP it's under control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer.  Look in the logs and you should have a system & an application log. Check both around the time of the crash and see if either are shouting about anything.

If you run M&B in windowed mode, do you see an error popping up?
And yes, this is different then alt-tabbing from fullscreen

Why would it? It doenst make a connection to the outside world.

i once had it to (other game) the standard windows firewall was blocking it so i turned it off and it stopped freezing

Hi!

I have very simillar problem but in my case the game runs for some time (5-15 minutes) and then mostly freezes a whole computer. I cant do anything except shuting it down and restart. I have tried many things including useing DX7 instaead DX9 but it doesn't works.
Some times when it crashes but doesn't freezes the whole computer, I can check the windows log. I found the information that newton.dll i causing the problem. Turning of rag dolls doesn't change antyhing.

Please, help!

Intel Core 2 Quad 2,4  overcloked to 3,0
4 GB Ram
2xGTX260 SLI
Windows 7 64 Bit RC 7100

I tried - it doesn't help. The true is, that there is something wrong with the game code. You should fix it as quickly as possible becouse it causes a lot of problems and make playing impossible.
