Just want to share my opinions after having 'ended' the game in realistic.

'Ended' because for the moment, it's impossible to fully beat the vlandians (the last nation alive but weaken) beause they always make peace with my ruler. Even after the conspiracy. Raid a caravan for declaring war? sure, 1 min after, peace is conclued. No way until patch.

I fully disagree with people complaining about the difficulty, the balance of nations and some stuff. Game is very nice when you understand how it works. This difficulty is what it make it worth playing.

I've just one thought which make me sad. Okay it's beta, early access etc... but it's sad that the Viking conquest (extension of warband) have more features and options. i mean warship, fighting on boat, random soldiers who want to join your army because of your reputation, beliefs and religion that affects your troops (christians doesn't like nordic gods), possibilty to upgrade villages, widow asking for gold so it give you honor, and a very very nice main quest! Also, the true european map was awesome. it would be nice to add these kinds of features.

BTW i love this game, and thanks the dev for the hard work.

Did some of you tried the viking conquest and have an opinion about ?

Viking Conquest was done by a different team. I would be very surprised if the base Bannerlord game suddenly started incorporating stuff from Brytenwalda or Viking Conquest.

It would be cool if the Brytenwalda team made something for Bannerlord, though.

I agree with your summary.
The overall foundation of the game is very nice and appealing. Battles are fun, the factions are diverse, cities look nice, etc.

However, the scope or rather depth of the gameplay is right now the limiting factor here. Currently the only viable player journey is merc, vassal, powerful vassal, own kingdom.
The only diplomatic tool is warfare.
Relation does not matter. Family does not really matter. There is no story.
The sandbox opens, you enter, and suddenly factions are beginning to disappear.

I hope that over the course of the next months they will expand the features of the game drastically to bring it more on par with VC.

The game can be cheesed, that doesn't mean you are some ultimate strategist hard-core mount&blade player, it just means you have patience, lots of it.

There are many things that need adjusting, and from what you've posted you've never really tried some of the best mods from the community for Warband, you should, you'll see the hidden potential and why some of these things need change/tweaking.

I didn't wrote it for being call an ultimate strategist, but for balancing post that over criticize some features; and also bringing attention to an official extension which can bring some goods improvements to Bannerlord

  • Spears need to be fixed, either through proper AI use, or by tweaking their stats (that's a fact).
  • Mounted units need both a automatic skirmish tactic command (instead of manually charging and retreating, which is annoying) and better hitbox placements for their attacks (currently they miss 90% of the attacks)
  • Infantry units need to raise their shields, currently they only do it under specific formations, and even then their ranks are disorganized, putting troops who have no shield in the #1 rank even in a shield wall (broken).
  • AI lords cheese their way by zerg rushing, it's doable (beating them) but quite annoying and unimmersive. Makes no sense.
  • AI lords can't lead armies properly, needs fixing.
  • Early Game is too steep, needs rebalancing.
  • Late game is too easy, needs rebalancing.
  • Offensive Sieges are too easy for both players and AI, needs rebalancing.
  • Persuasion is locked once you've failed, and doesn't seem to have a cooldown, needs fixing.
  • Siege scenes where the placement of siege engines (catapults mostly) make it impossible to hit anything.
  • Siege scenes where allied troops operating catapults Team Kill 30 soldiers by stupidly attacking their own siege tower.
  • Slight buff to mounted charges so enemies get knocked down or stunned longer.
  • Effectiveness of armor should be improved and more related to dmg type
  • Faster XP gains so to make it viable to use at least 2 ultimate perks, also to be able to shape followers into decently skilled and useful.
  • Rebalancing of food shortages + prosperity.

And this is a "short list", there are many other things that are encompassed within "balancing issues", so you're wrong, you may be right about some very specific claims or requests, but for the most part, the game is quite broken balance wise.

That's a pretty good list. I would also like to see:
  • AI lords being locked out of the top 2-3 tiers of recruits in villages and towns (I assume currently all AI lords have access to all recruits regardless of relations with recruiters), giving the player an advantage if they take the time to grind the relations.
  • Make kings behave more strategically, when they declare war it is a reasonable decision, ideally (this might be too optimistic) with a plan in mind (to capture a specific settlement on the border, retake a settlement etc) - this could be enhanced by the ruler publishing war quests that his vassals could undertake (while the ruler leads the main army, publish a few smaller side goals that individuals or smaller armier could take on).
  • Fix smithing - remove stamina and have every smithing action take in-game time, you can refine 500 charcoal in one go, but when you emerge back from the smithy one week has passed by. Also rebalance prices of smithed items so you cannot be making 500k denars per day.
  • Make aging more meaningful - when the campaign starts, have NPCs of all different ages. 10 years into the campaign, some lords should retire and be replaced by their heirs. 5 years into the campaign, some new lord parties should emerge, lead by nobles who have grown up etc etc

It would be cool if the Brytenwalda team made something for Bannerlord, though.

This please.

Viking Conquest is the only version of the MnB games I've played the storyline. I really loved the seemingly random events and places like hidden groves, hidden ruins with enemies and treasure, trolls bridge and the epic enemy, Berserker covens and the sense of mystery and mysticism from that age that are brought to life.

I also like picking up companions as part of story, field camps(for rest and talking to companions), mercenaries wanting to join you, the chance of being attacked inside towns and villages.

There are some just solid improvements from BL/Brytenwalda that if TW doesn't include them cus they didn't think of them first, well then they're doing us all a huge disservice.

Sure, some of the religion/story/lore stuff is perhaps a stylistic choice TW doesn't need to emulate, but if they don't incorporate things like the formations AI & hideouts/lairs (and many other things I won't list out) just because the Brytenwalda team came up with it then that's just being insecure and making fans suffer for it.

Fixed this today and will be fixed with next hotfix. Sorry for late fix for such an important bug.

Also it was easier to conquer world (at realistic difficulty) in 1.2.0 compared to 1.3.0. Try doing it again in 1.3.0 it will be harder.
