Resolved Game fails to launch

Users who are viewing this thread

I cannot launch the game from my Steam account, it just doesn't start.

I tried to do a lot of things. I read your support's article (https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/game-failing-crashing-at-launch.397007/) about this case and did every step you wrote down there (installed the files, updated the windows, made an exception at virus protection, and verified the files in Steam-->Bannerlord-->Properties-->local files), but the game still doesn't launch.

Then I opened the location of Bannerlord, and in the main folder there were only more folders (bin, Data, GUI, Icons, Modules, music, Shaders, Sounds, XmlSchemas), and no other files like .exe to try to launch from there, or as an administrator. Then I just went into the "bin" folder, then into "Win64_Shipping_Client" and tried to run Bannerlord.Native.exe. It seemed like the game started, but after that, it crashed.

I'm in the same boat, have been trying to get the game to work since yesterday to no avail.

That I actually managed to fix by switching to a windows account that only uses english characters. It hasn't helped further than allowing me to see the launcher, though.

Hello, sorry for the late reply. We have fixed a considerable amount of the problems we have encountered so far and improved the game performance with the multiple patches we have released. Please make sure that your game, your drivers, and OS are up to date and the game has necessary permissions over your security software. Please let us know if the problem persists after completing these steps and verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam.

I checked the things you mentioned, and tried to run the game after that, but I have got the same issue as I had in March. (I can play the game when I open it from the folder though).

So I launch the game, and the window pops up where I should select if I want to play single- or multiplayer. I started the single player version. The picture with the snowy background loads correctly, after that the smithing animation is played. When the animation ends, and the other loading screen comes, the game always crashes.

And I want to add an other thing, I hope it helps to find this problem: Last year I got an invitation for the Beta version. I played a few hours with it, but at the end of last year I had similar issues like I have now. When I can find the time I am going to reinstall my Win10, and download the game again.
