GAME DIFICULTY

Making the game inaccessible to non-hardcore audience isn't the solution. I've got a friend who never played previous MnB's and he's already facing enough challenges being a newcomer to the series. That times a hundred is the experience of someone new who doesn't have an experienced friend to explain things.

This is definitely something to keep in mind. A lot of the game's mechanics are basically hidden in that there's no way to learn about them aside from a wiki. I got a friend of mine to pick up Bannerlord and she spent her first eight hours getting captured over and over again even with my advice.

She finally found her footing after winning some tournaments and getting a decent chunk of coin. When I see people asking to make tournaments even less rewarding all I can think of is how she'd probably quit playing the game if there wasn't something she could do to recover her early losses.

Agree with the game is too easy now. People thinking that It is challenging, is because they are not aware yet to how easy you can make money. Plus the AI has been downgraded and winning tournaments and battles is much easier now.

It would be great if TW could put more enfasis on AI which is a key part to make a Game challenging and enjoyable, and also give us more ways to spend money. Settlements buildings should cost base money and not even if you want to boost projects. Currently there are too many effective ways yo get money and few ways to spend It.

Did you set all the settings of difficulty on hard? It sounds obvious question, but I don’t find the game that easy, above all once you become king yourself (at least failing the main quest because I didn’t know there was a time limit) with all those hidden tricky consequences in your actions (your previous influence go to zero when you become indipendent, your vassals take huge amount of money to join and they start wars for you without permission). Are you maybe using mods that make life easier?

yes man its in hardest possible state. i dont mean combat system is easy, i say becaming rich lord, creat new powerfull kingdom is achivable at few years. i think game need dynamic npc creator and characters must die easily in battles and be replaced and clan must take generations to reach to power.

I kind of agree that it would be nice if you didn't become a lord within a couple in-game weeks of starting on your adventure. Becoming a lord feels almost trivial and the mercenary phase of your career is over before you even really get going if you join a faction as soon as you can.

That being said I think any attempts to lengthen the time it takes to achieve fame and glory should come after they've added more features to the game. More things to do when you're not a lord especially. We need a bigger variety of tournaments, feasts, more quests, more ability to interact with the criminal element, etc.

Early game would get very boring very quickly if it actually took several months or years to achieve a lordship and gain power.

I also don't much care for the idea of straight up turning Mount and Blade into a dynasty simulator. I make a character that I want to play and intend to play out his story. Having the option to continue as his children is interesting but I don't really want it to be an inevitability that your first character will assuredly die just a few hours into a playthrough.
