Good job, taleworlds. You had a cult classic, a devoted fanbase, and a community willing to help you make this game great. However, somehow, you fumbled that. So proud. Maybe if you had bothered to listen to the community, or even communicate your vision properly, things would have gone better. gg no re

It doesn't matter, they have sold over a million copies and would have banked over $50 million easy, and they never had to finish the game to do it.

Agree with OP here... they dun goofed with this game... It's been a big let down coming off Warband and Napoleon. Combat is nearly ruined. That is why the player count has dropped down to double digits or sometimes single.

Money grab? ?

Single player:
In my opinion most people don't play SP because save games will get corrupted time and time again so people see no reason to play if their progress will just get reset and also significant late game features are not implemented yet.

Multi player:
People are absolutely tired of server crashes including myself and nothing seems to be done about them at all. I've got other games that I might want to play less than Bannerlord but at least those games don't piss me off with constant server crashes. And I bet this is why a lot of people just leave the game alone at the moment.

I believe it the combat system that makes people leave.

Or OP cav, OP archers. There are many issues with the current state of MP. We can just hope they get adressed soon.

Saying TW doesen't listen to the community is just not true. Neither saying, they didn't communicate their vision properly. Their vision is pretty much exactly what I expected it to be and with every patch its getting closer to it. What do you expect them to do?

Yes their vision is esports. Its very vague vision isn't?

They didn't listen to the community no, as seen as the whole debate about classes during beta and alpha

My biggest gripe is they're dedicating resources to make it into an esport when it will never be. I wish it would become one, but to even dream of it you need hundreds of thousands of concurrent players.

There's a ranked matchmaking in the works but what's the point? Multiplayer has no community around it whatsoever, and even worse, game is unfinished and unbalanced.

Ranked, if anything, should come with full-release, not before. Before we need proper combat and gameplay balance, along with proper data for every player; not the last 10 matches but full history of matches with important data such as score, time, who was in the match, each player's KDA, etc. Take for example:

With a public API to gather any data you might want.

And then, even if all this was done... And it releases with proper combat, balanced and fun classes, and a nice ranked system... Will it work then? I'd say no. Probably, no. It's a niche genre. At least then it would have a slight chance, but really, why bother? At that point, isn't it better to just push for what made Warband great? Customization, communities, mods and a robust fun gameplay to support all that?
