In Progress Game Crashes When Selecting Attack

Summary: The game crashes each time I select to "Attack" any enemy, anywhere on the campaign map. This is extremely frustrating as the issue I had prior was the game would crash every time I selected to move my character on the campaign map.
How to Reproduce: Select "Attack" when engaging enemy parties for field battles
Have you used cheats and if so which: None

Can't belive this still happens. I had these issues more than a year ago and reported them. And I'm having them again. Inexcuseable for a release version: 2022-10-29_06.58.33_b20f7762ed26358e5c0cab3f6b8a1dfe

Edit: no mods, verified files, crash when attacking any looters nearby

Interestingly my daughter plays the game also with no issues like I experience.
I'm wondering if it's because my saved game is uncategorized?

Three months on and three updates later and I'm still having the same issue.
When is this going to be resolved, i've not been able to play the game for months!!!!
