In Progress game crashes after takin a city while doing the weaken empire quest

Summary:i destroyed the western and the southern empires without crashes but when i try to take myzea which is owned by nothern empire it crashes after clicking done at the looting screen. i tried it in safe mode and the outcome is the same
doesnt crash after regular battles

no mods or cheats have ever used in the save file but file is a little old
