Resolved Game causes overheating and a hard shutdown of my laptop

Hello there! When I play M&B 2, it tends to cause my system to overheat, most likely due to extreme disk or memory usage. After playing for anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, this has oftentimes caused my laptop to do a hard shutdown (no specific event-related cause).

System specs:
Inspiron 7559
Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60 GHz processor
16 GB RAM
64 bit OS
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M

If my system just isn't cut out to play this game I'll have to accept that, but it would be a bummer because I'm a longtime M&B fan, plus this doesn't happen to me with any of the other games I've played on this laptop (Stellaris, Civ 6, XCOM 2, Elder Scrolls Online, etc.).

I've seen some other suggestions made about fixing a faulty PSU or adjusting the advanced power settings, but I wanted to see here if there have been any more concrete fixes discovered for this particular problem. Please let me know, and thank you very much!

Forwarding this issue to the QA team for further investigation. Thanks for reporting.

Thank you so much for offering to help! It does seem I might have stumbled onto the answer: the game was using my integrated video card instead of NVIDIA by default. I changed that, and went from having a GPU memory usage limit of 128 to over 4000. Lol

I should probably have figured this out sooner, but since it took me until now to stumble on it, I might recommend somehow making this issue more explicit for future dummies like me.

My system does still heat up quite a bit, and the task manager still suggests my GPU usage is at 100% when running the game (despite only using half the 4k limit). But no additional crashes so far, and I'm quite enjoying playing the game on a higher graphics setting! Thanks again!
