It opens a window that offers you to play in window sized or full screen among other thing.
But afterward, when you click ok it crashes everytime.

Welcome to the forums, Karn.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just bought a new computer and haven't even finished installing my basic progs (much less games) ... so am unable to see if it does the same for me.

Can anyone else confirm this, please?

It used to crash on me (my whole system) as well but I found out it was one of those useless programs that came with my vid card running in the background. (nwiz.exe) When I stopped it, my problems went away... then again I didn't use F2, I would hit ALT-Enter...

Greetings, nice game.
Found it out because someone posted it on another game boards, and i think you just snagged a few of us.

It's not another programme it's part of mount&blade.

Nwiz is shipped with Nvidia drivers and loads as a background task by default. Its purpose is to allow the use of multiple monitors with an Nvidia card. Having tested it myself, it seems to run fine with M&B's F2 function.

Judging by what it does, likely suspects would be the graphics drivers or any display related app running at the same time. Check your drivers are up to date, and make sure you have nothing else running which might make use of the display drivers (like nwiz, or those quick settings programs most drivers ship with).

If that doesn't work, then we'll need specs on your system.

that happened to me too, made the game crash and I pressed f2 instead of 2(follow me.. or do your best to do so, idiots)... DUH!
and I have an ati card with the latest drivers so I don't think it's nvidia related...

Nailed it.

Try turning off shadows. It should then allow you to switch between windowed and fullscreen during the game.

For Armagan (and anyone else interested) It allows switching while on a menu fine. Attempting to switch while actually in the game results in a CTD with no error displayed.
I tried switching to windowed mode from the in game menu, then proceeded to play fine (as well as could be expected in a teensy window, anyway ) I then tried switching to fullscreen and got an error beep. Switching back to the desktop (had to ctrl+alt+del) revealed the error "Unable to render target texture. Try turning shadows off".
Trying the same thing again after disabling shadows worked fine (even from within the actual game). Though trying to fight a battle in a tiny window adds a whole new level of difficulty to the game!
