Turning in the quest after completing all the requirements makes you a king able to take on vassalsCan you or do you automaticly create one?

Depending on whether you want to destroy or reform the empire, pick a faction to attack. In order to capture a settlement you just need to be hostile to the faction which can be done either by raiding one of their villages or by attacking one of their lords. After completing the siege go back to the quest giver and then you'll have your faction. Note: Completing the quest also seems to reset your relationship to other factions so you won't be able to capture any more land until another war is declared, but you'll also be safe from retaliation temporarily. How do you even do it? I have an active quest to start my own kingdom, but it tells me I need to have a settlement while also being independent.

Yes, you can look at your fiefs and other clans that are in your kingdom as well as set kingdom laws. Diplomacy hasn't been implemented yet though so the only way to go to war is either have it declared on you or raid a village/attack a caravan. I believe the only way to offer peace as well is by talking to an enemy lord in the field and asking if there is another way.Do you still get access to the kingdom tab?

Probably the smart idea until diplomacy for the player is in the game. Seems that part of the game has been developed more. I'll still probably try for a world conquest with broken diplomacy though, just wish my lords would stop backstabbing meI appreciate the info, I think I'll stick to a kingdom for now. What do you think?

Its EA game and before it got released they stated couple of times that creating your own kingdom wont be in game from very start. It will be added later. So u should be happy that we at least have this way and stop complaining about it when it is obvious they will add "non-quest" way of creating your own kingdom later. Jeez i hate how people complain about missing features while it was clearly stated they wont be in game from the begining.I personally do not like this way because the ability to create a Kingdom is subdued to the fact that you complete a quest and “someone” lets you do it. It subtracts your freedom and makes it less spontaneus.

+1 to that. Still it doesnt change anything about what i ve said. We should be happy it is there in some way. What boggles my mind is they wasted time coming up with a convoluted unfun quest instead of just a "make kingdom" button.
Likely explains why this game took 8 years...
