funny clothing issues

Ive noticed that some "Arab" helmets of the arab archers actually cover their eyes.

Second, when I appoint one of my companions as a vassal, they seem to change their outfit. This didnt happen in the native version or any other mod ive tried yet. 
Also how can I ask another vassal of another faction if he wants to join me? other than actually talking to him. Isn't there a way to do it through a messenger, etc..

Is there a fix or should I just wait for an updated version?  thanks

As to companions - I've noticed that they start wearing whatever is in their inventory, not what they have equipped. Best way to take care of this problem is to remove every piece of equipment they are not using from their inventories, then make them vassals. It's probably a scripting error because... well... OTHR IS LAZY!

Also, it would help if you've said which version you are using: pre10 or SVN.
