It's still no reason to delete it. He first locked it and then some time later deleted it. It was in Fun Stuff. I'm sure the admins are having a crackdown on fun Stuff lately.

They have periodic cleanouts of bloated threads. As far as I know there's nothing stopping you starting a new one - can we get a response on that from the admins?

Which is bad, how?

If you want real fun funstuff, just go to small talk on pbnation.com

That is where it's at.

There is this post by Jerky at the beginning of  Rate my signature mark II.

I do reckon something happened.

But why? And why delete them? Locking's good enough

And could we have a comment from LL himself?

Umm.. No?
Small thread = take small amount of bandwith
Big thread    = take a big amount of bandwith.

As I've understood it, opening big threads causes stress on the forum as well.
But as he said, we're allowed to make new ones, so it doesn't matter.

This is correct, as you can see from the number behind many of the threads this isnät the first time we've nuked them. The cut off point tends to be around 1000 posts after which it gets nuked, I locked it prior to that to let people know that it wasn't a crackdown but a nuke waiting to happen, I even explicitly stated that you can feel free to create a new one, which Jerky already did.

The reason for this is very simple, the conservation of bandwidth and disk space, neither of those are free.

Nooooo, the magical bandwidth fairy brings you a bucket of it every night.

Oh, haha. I always assumed you just nuked them because their existence caused you pain.
But in that case I wouldn't allow you to make new ones now would I

Larger threads = database bloat = crippled search engine + slow forum response

I'm wondering how long the new Werewolf game will stay up. It may over-take the whole forum space in a few weeks.

Until it's done, then it will be complied into a text file, put into rapidshare for later games to come, and the thread gets nuked =P
