I prefer smaller but slightly more frequent updates usually.

EDIT:
By 'smaller, more frequent' I meant about 2 months tops, and 'bigger, less frequent' being more than that.

I like medium sized updates every once in a while, so that we get to enjoy each version to it's fullest, but wont get bored of it.

Hugglez!

Seconded, but as long as it is very easy to convert/import mods that are designed to work on specific version of M and B into new version of module system...

Having more smaller updates means that the scope of this updates is reduced. With small updates only small things can be done, like some new models and troops. With longer updates large scale updates can be made that will improve the game more than a few small updates.

Larger but less frequent.  At the end of the day I like to play the mods for a while.  If the changes were little and often, the modders would be constantly updating rather than progressing.

Wait, so does that mean that its easier or harder?  :???:

Larger but less frequent updates. Then you have a chance to get a high-level character without cheats. And enjoy many mods compatible to current version.
However, it would be nice if developer or someone could tell about the progress once a while in forums, at least once a month, like "Started to make two more features. One major feature is not yet working, we'll try to get it work later. There is one minor feature done, but it willl be released with other features in the next version. Don't worry people, we are on schedule."
And I personally think that anyone, who sends PMs like "when is the next update?!", "what new features??" to developer, should have X day posting ban from spending developers precious time, which could be used for developing. Messages like "I love ya!" "me love M£B!1" could be sent to introduction/hello thread and/or update announcement.

I think I'd go for larger and more frequent.  Probably 7 larger and 4 more frequent, on a scale of You to Me.

Personally, i'd prefer exactly what he does at the moment. An occasional big patch, followed by bugfixes, and then a series of medium sized patches. That gives the optimal balance of new features and polish.

Truth be told,  M&B is far from perfect, and no amount of small updates would be able to rectify those problems. It needs the big updates to sort out the more fundamental issues.
