Hello!
When posting bug reports or suggestions for Bannerlord I always like to begin by commenting on how great a game it is. It is great. Very great.
As that's out of the way, I have run into a particularly annoying issue for which I haven't been able to figure out a work around. I have two fiefs as a lord for the Southern Empire. They are both castles and I have been using them to store my best troops so I can level up lower tier units during field battles and with the passive XP perk. My spouse roams the great Calradian wilderness hunting looters and who knows what else. Among his past times is a tendency to get captured. This on its own is ok, but the issue is as follows:
Every time he is freed, he travels to/spawns at one of my castles. This is normal, and convenient. However, he always defaults to governor of whichever castle he goes to. As handsome as he is, his leadership is rubbish. As soon as he starts governing, my garrison instantly drops from 411 to 375. I wish he would default to roaming around hunting bandits, as he had been before; at the very least, if he is intent on returning to one of our settlements, he should have the humility and foresight not to govern!
Apparently the garrisons hate him. It would be better to leave them alone.
Tl:dr whenever the spouse gets freed from a captor, they spawns at one of the player's fiefs as a governor. If their leadership score is lower, troops immediately desert.
*Unless it just happens randomly? It just happened without any party members acting as governor. If so, I don't know what triggers it. Food and prosperity are all doing well.
