Free Wagon Guards?

It seems that troops assigned to guarding your wagon draw no wages, atleast not that I have noticed. This seems like a bug. If this is the case it means I can assign whatever troops I like to my wagon, and it will likely never be defeated in battle. Infact it's possible it might join me in battle, if it's on the world map and close to me (I don't know I haven't tried).

Definitely a bug. Wagon guards should be flaged as a Patrol and paid full wage.

Still not sure if you have to pay for them when they're travelling, but if you assign them to defend the wagon, but don't send the  wagon out, they disappear from your troop roster and do not need to be paid or fed.
