France declares the negation of the Armenian genocide illegal.

As foreign policy, it's a bit silly, knowing how Turkey will react, especially as they are one of the faster growing economies and would make an excellent replacement to Greece in the Euro.

I somehow doubt they did it because of the foreign policy aspect to it
[Devils advocate] And that's why they fail, if they don't think of the economy above all else, things will begin to slide.

IIRC France was always pushing for recognition of the Armenian Genocide as a requirement of Turkey joining the EU anyway though, and with the EU in the shape it is now I doubt they'll be rushing to bring in any new member states in the immediate future.

Turkey already made their embassador leave France, they're quite... not ok with the decision, to say the least.
Maybe France is just jealous, I can vouch for the fact that Turkish wine is in some respects superior to theirs.

So the Turks think it was a pretty cool thing to happen then?

Kobrag, all wine is ****.

[devils advocate]France always seems to want to rub other nations the wrong way, first it was the Treaty of Versailles, now it's this.
No one talks about how France promoted the rape and slaughter of women and children alike as official military policy in it's historic Spanish campains.

Well if the E.U. let people in for economic reasons Russia would have joined a while ago, Turkey has an even more bat**** insane government, and their economy isn't exactly booming, even before the downturn.

Isn't the EU always described as an economic union?

What was a pretty cool thing? Armenians dying on the road?  No I don't think that was a cool thing. Turks should apologize to Armenians for what happened and Armenians too should apologize to Turks for what they did wearing French and Russian uniforms. Armenians should also stop the invasion of Azerbaijan and apologize to them with Russians for the genocide they committed against Turks there.

The French and the Russians should apologize to Turks for committing a genocide against them.

This should end here and Armenians should stop other nations from using them for political gains. Hating each other more day by day is not a good thing.

By the Liberal media which you read yes.

Ah, I knew this thread would summon an ancalimon.

The way I see it, an apology from Turks isn't gonna get them anything. What do the Armenians want? Money? That ain't gonna happen. Turkish government isn't gonna accept it. To be honest, and I say this with neutrality, Armenians should just suck it, let it go and have Turks open trade routes instead. That's a way to make some money.
