Fractional Wages

If you would mathematically pay your troop .3 denars or something like that, does it round it up?  I know troops will always say that they cost at least one denar but has anybody tested this?

I'll do it when I get home and post the results.

If it says they require 1 denar... that's what they get? I'm confused by your question. There are no fractions.

I'm just wondering if under the hood it is doing fractions.  It might say one denar but only pay out a fraction.

I doubt it but worth a look.

Yeah, why on earth would you want to do something like that? My guess is the wages are stored in integers, so it can't do fractions even if it wanted to.

The reason I was wondering is this.

Say you have 600 troops garrisoned in a place.  If they are all recruits or tribesman that cost 1 denar each, and their wages are halved because they are garrisoned, would they each cost 1 denar or .5 denars?

It would only take a second to test.  It's not really a boredom thing.

Integers are easier to store and I imagine they round up always.

Yeah, that'd be my guess. As for when you have troops that cost 1 denar, personally I'd do it so that the game calculates the upkeep of the whole garrison, then divides in half and rounds as necessary. That way you don't run into the problem of 1 denar troop cost being halved and then rounded to 1 again.
