"Foxy Knoxy" convicted

To be honest, I couldn't possibly care less about this.
That said, more countries should have death sentences.
That's the better part of the yankistani system.

True. How is keeping someone locked up in a cell for the rest of his life more humane than just executing him? The convict's life is over anyway.

But what if in ten years or so, it is found that she actually was innocent?

From what evidence I've heard it seems strange that Knox and the other two suspects received such long sentences.
The prosecution were asking for life imprisonment. Given the minimum sentence for murder in Italy is 21 years, 25 - 26 years isn't exactly harsh, particularly not when you consider there was also a charge of sexual assault and attempting to pervert the cause of justice thrown in too.

And he costs less AND you get to give the food he'd eat to some poor children down in Africa.

I don't know where you live, but the problem with the American system right now is after all the appeals and trouble you have to go through for the system to kill someone it actually IS cheaper to keep them alive in jail for the rest of their life.

You may not save money, but you save resources.

Its pretty obvious she's guilty as sin. Blaming an innocent, and then trying to force ALL the blame on another dude just looks like she was trying to skirm out of it.

I know when I'm innocent of a crime I never try to squirm out of being convicted of it.

Well if you're innocent, you wouldn't feel the need to. Squirming just makes you look guilty.

(No idea why I spelt it skirm)

I was quite surprised actually that Bill Clinton didn't run over there and bring her back .

Anyways, our system was built on protecting the innocent, and it does that better then any other system out there. Actual punishment and other after-conviction stuff could use an improvement, I agree.
Oh, you do love it. In your last post in this thread you said it was bad. :???:
Did I **** up my phrasing again?

Not all people can handle stress, especially when their life's freedom is at stake. Given how horrible the Italian police (and government) are in general, I'd take any evidence they "find" as fabrication over fact. I don't blame the jurors for finding them guilty, because it probably wouldn't have been safe for them to give any other ruling.

There's kind of no point to Italy having a legal system if they can't do evidence. I seriously doubt they would have prosecuted her if they didn't have facts to back them up.

Believe it or not, Italy isn't run by the mafia. Jury folks aren't bumped off if they disagree with someone.

Then she should have done a better job of it than accusing an innocent man. I can't abide liars.

You can't abide anyone!

On a more serious note, why are so many people of the opinion she's innocent?

Don't you mean you cant abide bad liars? There may be a whole host of liars you're perfectly happy with because they're good liars, thus you haven't realised they are, in fact, liars.

Especially people that make such a hash of it :???: I'll have you know, when I pin a murder I committed on someone it'll bloody stick.
