Surprised I haven't seen a thread yet.

Bloody Italians.

Despite all the negative stuff, the one thing that really stands out that I wholeheartedly love about America...Is our Legal and Criminal Justice system, which pales in comparison to that of other countries. And probably the reason the poor girl got convicted.

As am I... The evidence looks decent...

I mean I'm actually quite interested (It's kinda sick, but I like reading about murder cases)... is there something missing in the press release?

What the heck are you on about? Our system sucks. Too many appeals not enough punishment. When it's cheaper to put someone away for life than to kill them for the murders they have done you know something is wrong.

Did you even read the article in the link? The evidence is garbage, and what evidence there is seems to point to another person, who was *already tried and convicted for the crime*. That guy fingered Knox several months after his initial confession, more than likely to try to get his sentence lowered. It's a travesty, and I'm sure that she'll win on appeal once she gets it out of the basketcase Italian legal system.

I was quite surprised actually that Bill Clinton didn't run over there and bring her back .

Anyways, our system was built on protecting the innocent, and it does that better then any other system out there. Actual punishment and other after-conviction stuff could use an improvement, I agree.

Yeah, they don't even sequester jurors in Italy, it's amazing.

Oh, you do love it. In your last post in this thread you said it was bad. :???:

I don't know what happened; I wasn't there. But the fact that she lied to implicate an innocent bar-man in the murder doesn't exactly speak well of her character. Or her testimonies.

Desperation, perhaps?
I don't know, she looks doesn't, to me, seem like someone capable of it, but that's hardly good reasoning. A bit of DNA on a bra-strap is ****e evidence, however, and you can't really convict someone on something as trivial as that; according to the article, she was engaged in sex games with the other women, what if that wasn't the only time? Hence the reason for the DNA. This trial stinks of bull****.

Hmm, DNA was found on the kitchen knife used for the murder, no wonder, she lived there and probably used that knife every day.

Its pretty obvious she's guilty as sin. Blaming an innocent, and then trying to force ALL the blame on another dude just looks like she was trying to skirm out of it.

Besides, who does cartwheels and splits while talking to the police about the murder of a friend?

You love your justice system because it's inferior to that of other countries? I think you need to work on your understanding of idiom.

From what evidence I've heard it seems strange that Knox and the other two suspects received such long sentences. Granted, the defendants' alibis are far from water tight, and it seems they were probably outright lying at certain points, but the prosecution's evidence seems equally as wonky as well.
I suspect that Knox did play a part in Kercher's death, but given the evidence I'm surprised that she was sent down.

The knife you're referring to there was at Knox's boyfriend's house, it had both the victims and the suspects (on the blade and handle, respectively) DNA on it.

Yeah, her behaviour before being questioned does seem strange. You'd expect her to be in shock immediately after finding the bloodied body of her flat mate.
