Found Marshall, but can't speak to them

Apologies if this has been asked before, but a google search has delivered nothing, and searching "report to marshall" on this forum returns every single post where the word "to" is used.....

I have been summoned by my Marshall. I have found them but they are in a siege that they for some reason are not commanding. When I go to the camp, it only gives me the option to speak to the camp commander - which is not the marshall.

How do I fix/work around this without waiting and hoping I get lucky.

If they are in the castle/town that is under siege. Then you cannot contact marshal until the siege is over i would suggest you to get in there if so. And maybe talk to marshal after siege if the quest did not get canceled.
