In other words, about 36 minutes from now. I'll be updating and upgrading various server software for the forums, so they may go down for a short bit.

OK, first round of updates completed. I need to check into a few things and may be running further updates shortly.

EDIT: while it downloads the large block of updates, I'm leaving it up. Will shut it back down just before it starts updating. Again, this might take a while once the process starts before we're online again.

OK, looks like we're back again finally. Turned out the biggest isuse was a problem with the SMF sessions table, which we've had problems with earlier when the server crashed due to power failure. It was locking up MySQL whenever queried, which happens with every SMF page load. Bottom line, it could not be repaired by any normal methods and I had to truncate it (empty it). Many people may need to log back in since the sessions table stores who is "logged in forever" and such.

The sessions table had also grown to 1.6GB in size, seemingly also related to the power related crash. This size is many times the size of all other database tables combined.

My apologies for people having to log back in, but there was nothing that could be done to retain the corrupted session data.
