For those complaining about blunt damage vs armor

Imagine using a single example to prove a point, which noone really cares about because it's actually all about gameplay and not realism.

Or maybe that guy bought a random helmet from aliexpress that wasn't the right size for him and made with ****ty materials.... :iamamoron:

Bro, all these people are probably dead now...

Don't you see, it's on youtube, it's a video. What else am I supposed to use as proof to basically say "get good" to everyone?

The point which you seem to have missed is that this is a game, and it doesn't matter what it's like in real life. If people are unsatisfied in the game play then it needs to be addressed.
Obtw git gud is probably one of the most childish replies that anyone ever made in gaming. Most people play games to have fun not be to be a "leet" gamer.

Imagine thinking that people are complaining about weak armor because they think the game's too hard. Weak armor makes the game too easy. That's the real problem. "Git Gud" just makes it worse.

While it's true that armor in this game is too weak, blunt has always been the counter to armor. The cons of blunt weapons have always been their slow speed and low base damage.

Get better at reading mate. No one cares about your video, especially when counter-examples can be found just as easily if not more in any behour footage.

By the way I don’t see the point of creating yet another thread on this topic, especially if that’s all your are going to share, when there are already enormous, still relatively active threads on the same topic.

Exactly, i want armor to be better because the game is too damn easy right now even on "realistic", yours and enemy's battle-hardened veterans are droping like flies cause their armor is made of wet paper lmao

Agreed, the problem isn't that blunt is a counter to armor but first, that armor is too damn weak and second that the blunt damage formula just completely ignores 100% of your armor, that's bad gameplay design that no white-knight should be able to defend..

Well, I am ashamed and humbled by this reaction to my sh*tpost, you guys are making some good points and therefore I retract myself from this discussion for a meaningful period of time.

And that's why we can never go back to Comicon! Can never live it down.....

@1:05 lol that dent in his helmet... we need THAT helm in Bannerlord, that guy just walks it off (what ******? My Helms from warband!), where's that viking-ray guy who was all "If you get hit by a 2 handed axe you DESERVE to be 1hko.. blah blah derpy derp" see NO NO NO you was WRONG! Cuz VIDEOS!

I appreciate the effort but it's such a sensitive subject that hardly anyone can pass up the opportunity to **** all over the current armor and damage calc system!

Seriously, Blunt needs to have coded in minial threshold of base damage (and supporting calc changes and changes to troops skills...) so that weak **** troops and weapons can't damage through heavy armor with weak blunt attacks. Looters don't need to get in 5 damage or even 1 damage on heavy armor, it's dum. Recruits swinging farm gear don't need to be able to hurt you past a certain armor level, it just dum.

Yes some kind of stagger build up or stamina damage from taking zero damage hits would be smart, no we will never ever get something like that.

For the sake of gameplay blunt damage should be viable.

I wonder if there's really anything underneath the mail covering their lower faces in that video. My guess is that it wasn't much. It looked like he punched the guy with his gauntlet more than his shield, and any stiff jab with those to the chin would seriously ring anyone's bell. Not sure if that would be the best example of blunt damage.

Although an explosive sword strike to the helmet and especially an axe strike to the helmet could definitely cause a lot of damage, possibly enough to kill someone. The guys in the second video are definitely not going full power with blows to the head.

Gameplay-wise, with something like a 1h sword, only blows to the head and stabs should really do any damage against someone heavily armored.

Yeah weak armor is a big problem in general. Thankfully (hopefully?) this kind of issue will be able to be fixed via modding. Even if they don't fix balance issues in Native, once the game gets out of EA people will start modding like crazy. Because it sucks if you mod now and it becomes useless next patch.

That is, again, once it gets out of EA...

I agree. The problems come with low level gear counting as blunt weapons. I mean: are we talking a reinforced mace - maybe on a long stick for extra impulse or a random pebble or leg of a broken chair? The latter should not inflict damage to heavily armored guys in plate.

Right now blunt weapons:

1) Just pure garbage in stats.
2) Ignore armor completly

And it should be:

1) A little worse in stats
2) Quite better against armor.
