FOR TALEWORLDS: HOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMBINE THE OLD SYSTEM OF PURCHASING EQUIPMENT AND PERK SYSTEM IN THE MULTIPLAYER?

Do you agree with the combination of the new and the old system in the form quality from single?

  • I have my own idea for combining the old and the new system (write in the comments)

So people who actually played Warband and Bannerlord have invalid opinions compared to people who have only played Bannerlord?

Warband players (mostly) don't want the old purchase system due to nostalgia or stubborness. We like it because we have tried both and find the class system inferior. It gets old being stuck in the same loadouts time after time. It sucks that everyone looks identical so you can't find your 'combat buddies'. I liked being able to buy a two hander but still have a cheap, crappy shield and one hander to take on ranged troops.

The only advantage I see for the class system is that there are no naked guys or absurd loadouts.

A compromise I could see is 3 classes of infantry (light, medium and heavy) with more perks. Improved armour would double the skins out there so each faction would at least have 6 different looking infantry. And a bit more selection of weapon combinations would definitely help too.

Although I do think the class system is the way to go for captain's mode, other modes (present and future) I think should be reworked to have a more warband-esque equipment system - I like the idea of having dedicated slots for different items to avoid things like carrying multiple shields, or stacking too many throwing weapons.
This problem with the class system could also be fixed with more variety of troop selection, and a wider variety of viable perks

There was room for improvement with the equipment selection, but instead they've gone with a system that limits the freedom of customisation for your loadout and often forces you to play as troops you don't want to play as. I've seen every type of player complain about it (competitive, non-competitive and new players). It's just a regression and a nuisance.

Most of what I see there is people coming from warband complaining about the combat system. The new players seem to enjoy captain quite a bit, and I saw a couple of complaints about the class system, but that seemed to come down to "It was fun to run around naked in warband" more or less.
The competitive community from Warband don't like it either.

You can keep the class system for Captains Mode, but it makes no sense to let it hold back the potential for the rest of MP, especially if it's supposed to be the best M&B game ever, to last us another decade.

Stop speaking the truth man, it's too much for some people.

For some reason some people believe that if you are from warband and hate the class system your opinion becomes biased but when they love it it's fine.

@vfkaseke The others have replied more or less with my opinion so there's not much point in me responding to you(I will anyway, though), I agree with them. My other opinion is that Captain's Mode, in terms of the design of mechanics, is simply too different to the other multiplayer modes that most discussions about multiplayer, especially regarding classes, don't really apply to it. It was the general consensus that Captain's Mode should've been developed completely separately from the rest of multiplayer, since the rest of multiplayer is shackled to Captain's Mode, and what works well for Captain's Mode simply doesn't work for the rest.

There were other ways to streamline loadouts/equipment(properly designed default loadouts, the ability to create and then save loadouts, etc.). Instead what we got for the rest of multiplayer was a travesty. It's simply lazy, sloppy design.

Also; you speak of echochambers, but to date, I have not seen a single organized section of this community, with the exception of me being told about a few Captain's Mode groups, who like or prefer this system. No item economy is the third most complained about thing when talking to people from my region(this isn't necessarily an accurate data selection). This whole forum, and that reddit thread all prefer Warband's. Every day when I played for the first two months after Early Access release would have me see at least one (but usually several) person complain that they couldn't choose their equipment. From my experience, people that leave echo chambers and then interact with the rest of the world who disagree with them, seem to think that the other people are in echo chambers, because they all disagree with the real echochamber's opinion. I suggest you take a moment to read everywhere else before telling other people to get out of their echo chamber.
