It's a really neat system, I like it a lot. However I would not be very optimistic about any beneficial changes coming to Bannerlord's equipment selection since the 28 pages of class discussion on that thread were mostly half baked attempts to defend the new system from the devs as well as some false(debunked) statistics being thrown out.
That is not their mindset. People have been complaining about this premade class system for over a year now, with it overwhelmingly disliked by the significant majority of forum users. I haven't met a single person in game, or in my community, that likes it (I've talked to a couple that don't care either way, though). Warband's equipment selection is preferred, and that has been the case since the beginning. And TaleWorlds has not done a single thing about it. They added a second perk slot late in the closed beta, and that did absolutely nothing to solve the problem. You can't just put a bandaid on a bullet hole and call it a day.I think the developers themselves understand everything perfectly, just to work out the entire system and how to successfully combine the systems for buying equipment and perks, all this will take many months

It's possible that whoever makes the decisions about these things will snap out of their delusion at some point, but for the last year, and currently, they are sticking to this class monstrosity.

Polls say otherwise. There is more data to back up the fact people dislike it then like it. Unless you can prove the opposite you are completely wrong.I on the other hand know lots of people who prefer this system. Warbands system was a bit redundant and overcomplicated. The new class and perk system is streamlined and easy to grasp for new players. Do try to get out of your echo chamber every now and then.
The forum polls are very biased. The people who mostly use the polls are old warband players. People don't go to forums anymore dude.Polls say otherwise. There is more data to back up the fact people dislike it then like it. Unless you can prove the opposite you are completely wrong.
Prove it by doing another poll somewhere you believe it would matter. You can not blame the polls to be biased if the people who are not on the forums just don't care about the game. The forum polls are very biased. Well the only place that would actually be fair is the main menu of the game... but he has a point. The Polls were very biased.. forums are a nest for people who... well want to complain about things mostly. I have several friends who own and play Bannerlord who have never even looked at this forum. However it was clearly still one sided. Though I think this is due to a combination of factors. Mostly you are comparing the old system to the Bannerlord system right now... in this scenario it's easy to prefer the system we have used for 10 years over the one that isn't nearly finished.Prove it by doing another poll somewhere you believe it would matter. If people care about the game they will come on the forums, i believe this is clear by now. What you call "Biased" is just all the warband players switching to bannerlord. Because guess what, most people who came from warband SP to bannerlord SP still have 0 interest in the multiplayer. While the people from multiplayer have 100% interest in the multiplayer.
It's like blaming there is too much old players from destiny 1, in destiny 2. Like what do you expect when you have a dedicated playerbase?
Trying to get a poll up in the captain's league discord right now. You call it biased because it doesn't fit your narrative. We have asked before during the beta a long time ago to put polls for the class system, but it only came in the form of a mere feedback form send by email. In that form the only thing concerning about the class system as far as i remember was "What is the biggest issues in bannerlord right now" with other options like "combat" etc. We didn't even get back from TW what the data said.Well the only place that would actually be fair is the main menu of the game... but he has a point. Do the same poll again in a year and it would be much more interesting. I'm not guaranteeing it will be different; I'm just saying it will be much more viable.
Again though I continue to wonder why people care so much; it makes so little difference to the gameplay... Combat parameters, server stability, game modes - these are things that matter. How we choose our equipment... really doesn't matter at all compared to these things...
I believe you're fairly new but its a common consensus that the class system fits skirmish and captain. I would also vote yes and a few minor changes to the class system if you asked me for it in captain mode.Trying to get a poll up in the captain's league discord right now. Because the approach of giving good feedback hasn't worked. Read thisWell then I don't honestly get what this forum post is about. If people want the class system abolished just from siege and TDM, why not just address it in the title? I see this same conversation pop up in the forums constantly, and all I ever see is people hating on the class system, and no real conversation of which modes it fits and which it doesn't. Just constantly raging about it is not really all that helpful, and filling the forum with these posts might as well serve no one.
Thing is NeoGK didn't split the playerbase; and no one would have bothered using it if it did. There are a few hardliners on the class system but the majority of the players either don't care or don't care enough. Assuming combat changes, servers are improved, battle mode comes, clan mode comes AND the class system is improved. Do you really think enough people are going to care that much? If you ran a poll listed what is more important - Combat Changes or the class system.. and then did the same for every change I just listed... we might see how low down this is in the priorities...You saying the class system doing so little difference just shows you don't actually see the gravity of the situation for many people like me with this class system. When a mod comes out that comes out with a massive superior customization system, which warband has showed to be very popular with NeoGK, it's going to split the playerbase so hard you can't imagine.
NeoGK didn't split the playerbase, i never claimed it did because it was server side mods. This is not a poll, but you can get an idea of what the "new" players who join the franchise with Bannerlord think (or thought two months ago... the situation hasn't really changed much). The forum polls are very biased. Most of what I see there is people coming from warband complaining about the combat system. The new players seem to enjoy captain quite a bit, and I saw a couple of complaints about the class system, but that seemed to come down to "It was fun to run around naked in warband" more or less. This is not a poll, but you can get an idea of what the "new" players who join the franchise with Bannerlord think (or thought two months ago... the situation hasn't really changed much).

To be honest there is no point arguing about all this. The class system is not going to change. it will get better and it looks like v1.5.0 will overhaul it but they aren't going to go back to the warband system. This isn't an opinion it is just the most likely outcome we can all agree on.Most of what I see there is people coming from warband complaining about the combat system.
