For Honor

How dare you insult the Japanese tamagohane steel. We use only the freshest chicken eggs and pigeon **** to make our katanas.

Also, whichever idiot comes along claiming the armors are realistic, here, right in the TW forums, will be slapped. Those version of Western and Japanese armor are so inaccurate they're only qualify as decoration pieces made from slapping together different components of armor from different periods.

Says the guy who (IIRC) thinks F4 looks decent.

I guess it depends on what aspect we're talking about, doesn't it? They'll both no doubt have their ups and downs.

HOWEVER

The King Arthur: The Role-Playing Wargame looking player was ****ing hideous and the combat looked like looney tunes.

More like both downs. F4 for the usual Bethsoft tier graphics and For Honour for the cartoony look that claims it's "historic".

The combat honestly doesn't bug me that much. It's mostly realistic techniques thrown in at Dynasty warrior speed.

I wasn't really talking about graphics. I just meant in general, this looks a bit ****.

Also can I pls has a u?

From what I've seen though, the game would probably sell very well among more casual gamers. And since the premise of the game is a lot smaller, I wager it'll end up a lot less buggy than the usual Ubi release.

Wots zat?

A prominent word in the title of the game (I shall not name and shame) looks odd to me without a 'u'. Just feels wrong, bro. It's almost like a child with an unfortunate mental condition named the game.

I laughed so hard when the samurai manages to cut through plate armor.

I hope one day to live in a time where people understand that katanas don't cut through steel.

I hope to one day live in a time where people understand that armour is useful and can't just be cut by swords into ribbons as if it was a cotton t-shirt.

It's a game thing. People want to fight with swords rather than halberds and maces and crap, but at the same time they don't want to spend fifteen minutes bruising someone's arm by bashing their breastplate with a sword. Even in mount and blade you can slice into/through armour with a blunt sword. And I'm perfectly fine with that for the most part, it's just balance.

What breaks the deal for me is the funky spinning animations that slow combat to a point where all the blocking seems pointless. Halfswording or not, i can't imagine anybody's going to use all the combat mechanics when the attacks are so exaggerated. The gameplay guys sure didn't.

PVK II could've been pretty good, shame the development was so slow the game was dead before all teams had any more than two classes.

I've always got the memories of playing the original PVK though. Jesus, that was glorious. Dat Helm's Deep siege map.

Looks interesting, I'm always up for a good melee game... until Bannerlord.

I'm not talking about swords going through armour as a game thing (although I think it's stupid in a game context and is not even that great in Warband. But at least in Warband different armour protects from different damage types. A sword dealing cutting damage in Warband won't be doing significant damage to someone in full plate). I'm talking about people who legitimately believe that armour is useless. People who would otherwise know better.

I thought they just accidentally pressed 'n' instead of 'd'. I was disappointed when I saw the trailer.
