there is only 1 thing in warband that most people cant seem to understand.

When your killed during a round (whatever it is a siege,battle,CTF,S&D,deathmachts or team deathmachts)
You can NOT communicate whit players that are still alive.

this might seem like a usless thread but i can assure you that this is new information for a lot of players.

It can be helpful to communicate with the other dead in a game type like siege. If you die fighting alone at the back of the keep in Castle, for instance, you can tell the people who are dead where you just died, they'll be spawning soon and can take care of the problem or let the others know.

Oh really? WB IS a medieval combat simulator and the belief in ghosts and demons was very much a part of the medieval mindset so it is perfectly understandable if you are reading messages from dead people and could help you with game immersion.

I keep telling people this over and over again, since it's not explained anywhere. I request that they put in some popup boxes, with helpful information, the first time you play, or something along those lines.

hmm, I didnt know this. Should be possible for everyone to hear everyone though, when youre dead is the time when you are talking with the others, dont have time for that when Im alive.

As I've suggested before, there should be a warning in red writing above the chat box that appears when you're dead telling you that only other dead people and spectators can hear you. Many people don't know this...

I think there's an option for it in the admin panel, or on the dedicated server file.

I find it amazing that there are still people who don't know that the dead can't talk to the living in online multiplayer games.  It's only been that way since Counter-Strike, after all.

For the record, I had heard this, but had no way of verifying it.  I think the same goes for a lot of us.
Out of curiosity, how did this "commonly known fact" become so commonly known?  Did Armagan mention it in a thread somewhere, or were guys in beta testing it when there were three guys on a server?

and there are some other issues that i want to add to this warning topic
these are absolutely simple and look like "common known facts", i know, but unfortunately many people often make these mistakes:

1- not to keep close the castle gates (siege). i'm really sick of yelling that "close that damn door!" again and again and again...
2- to leave the flag alone (ctf and siege). so many times all players run for battle and no one stays with the flag. damn, these game types are all about flag, not about higher killing scores! and in these flag games, you should use your brains and develop some strategies.
3- to swing weapons as uncontrolled, so giving damage to teammates. mostly it is avoidable but many people don't even think about it and swing their weapons madly. it happens especially when many people attack to just one enemy, they often slash each other and that one enemy survives... it is a very critical mistake and a great  favour for enemy especially if it is a flag game...

Not completely true You can talk to living when you're dead in deathmatch. Other game modes no, but in deathmatch yeah.

Isn't a duel sever deathmatch? pretty sure can't talk to dead people on there. Gues its probably set server side?

Yeah you can talk on duel servers that are DM. You see them as *DEAD* or *SPEC* in the chat. Not sure if it's optional or not.
