Resolved Food in town and castle

I was wondering if there is a way to increase food stores since the new update? I tried trading 2k grain and fish to my town, but the food stores didn't go up at all. Am I supposed to store it somewhere? Is there anything I can do to help my castle not starve? Love the game but this piece of it is very frustrating.
