I thought it'd be nice if, when your food reached, say 10 or less units, a little display would come up in the corner of the screen, letting you know your food was running out.
 
honestly, it seems fine how it is to me. You're never too far from a town in this game, and it's not like as soon as you run out of food, your soldiers starve. Basically, when you run out of food, it IS your warning. You still have so much time to get to town and buy food.
 
How about automatically placing some spare food from the inventory into the food slot when it runs out. It is really annoying when I get knocked out, the enemy takes my current steak and my troops start complaining even though I have three racks of fish spare.
 
Autofeeding would be very nice, or simply ditching the food -- it's too simple and who ever feeds their soldiers anything but the best grub in M&B?? It's rather irksome when you get the "Party has nothing to eat!!!" message a second before getting pounced, say, by some Khergit raiders... sometimes morale drops even in that short span of time.

I said it'd be nice. A convenience thing. I do carry extra food with me, and normally switch as soon as the message comes up, unless, as the above post stated, I get the message just before a fight, wich sucks. A count-down timer is reaaaally basic to add, and would be a nice feature to have.
 
I don't get it, I always prowl the land with an eye for conflict. Even the first time I played this I never got the party has nothing to eat and then had to fight. I think the food for the men idea is fun and doesn't really make it hard.
 
I kind of agree on that. I think food should be more important. I think it is a nice feature which is currently not developed enough.

If it was more of a neccessity, would be better. I mean, you can just walk around alot without food since
1. Towns are very close. Traveling takes too little time. So you are never so far from a town to be badly affected by hunger.
2. The effect isn't very.. sharp. Maybe it could be like, when the food stock lowers, peoples morale goes down. But if you got spare, its better. And if you are out of food, your men immidealty (i never learned to type this word) start going unconcious. And the more days pass the more and more fall unconcious (like a unconcious_men_number=(days_without_food)^2 function) and eventually death, very quickly.

Well im aware these arent so sharp and hard to evade. But in real life, too it is not hard to evade hunger if youve got money. So these are just a little more strict, to at least make you keep an eye on food, i guess.
