Yes, you must survive.  This was an intended decision on the conservative side until I see how economy influencing the new betting system is.  And while you may make that money surviving, you should be able to score a point or two along the way for even more.

Your other concern I'll take to the bug thread.
 
Windyplains, you turned the new tournaments into cash cows. They are the most profitable venture across Calradia, ruining any (already poor) attempt to trade or invest in anything. This and the new mercenary paying system... no money problems ever.
Don't even know if i'm complaining.  :roll:
 
Monnikje investigated this and the files are fine. A reinstall/reapplying the patch should fix things for you. If not - post your rgl log after a crash.

rgl_log.txt is found in your main Warband install folder. Above Floris and Modules.

 
Just as a general note - there seem to be various problems with the patch

You can get the old taleworlds version with your steam game key (right click) and this download:

Most likely, but not necessarily, the glitches they will be patching in whatever comes after 1.150 are going to be in the engine, not the module system so once that's out we can likely go ahead without a problem (similar to the 1.142/1.143 debacle). But I guess we'll have to see what tomorrow brings with the release of NW, etc.
 
I encountered the same problem with the start up crash resulting from,apparently a missing item or texture. Just wanna turn in my log as well in case of any different dilemmas.
-I did re-patch as recommended but had no luck.
-I use the expanded tree.

You are using the wrong warband version.

While Floris requires 1.143.

You also have way too little RAM for the expanded version. At the very least you would need 2GB RAM, though that may still be too little.
 
Expanded works perfect unless theres like a thousand horses rushing at me. I also could have sworn I had the required version. Same as another poster I guess.
I did update it to that version and will try it with the patch later.

i guess i just can't have it all my way

and i'd also like a thumb-up emoticon to put it next to Floris mod and all those who made it so great  :wink:
