At present it isn't included in either. I'm considering adding it to PBOD. PBOD does include significant buffs to polearm attacks against horses, however, even without the bracing code.Sethwick 说:Would there be any way to include spear bracing in this, or is it included in Diplomacy or PBOD? I really like all the gameplay changes of Floris Mod, but the graphical enhancements are a bit much for my system.

Hmm, I could probably do that, but it would involve wrestling with code. I do that at work enough to want to avoid it in my free time. I'll have to try it and see how the buff makes things, I just really liked seeing a bunch of calvary charge into a spear wall and watching the horses fall over dead.Caba`drin 说:At present it isn't included in either. (The complicated, complete answer is that you could do it yourself...by getting the spear bracing code from Floris Expanded source and then adding it to the source of either Diplo or PBOD--or their joint source--compile and voila, it's in.)

Yep you're doing it right.pino69 说:I suppose it's the count atop itemkinds file but I can't figure out what is the good number... It came from 604 (native+diploPB+PBOD which works fine) to 2183, adding 1579 as it's recommended.
Not a problem.pino69 说:Exact. I just verified with Troop Editor and was on the verge of editing my post...
So the real number to add is 1578. Should be sticked in the first post of this thread in order to avoid any future mistakes.
Thanks a lot for your reactivity.
That is the 'Hotfix B' for some bugs in v0.88pino69 说:Did I install the right files in Dip+PB folder ?
The files I installed are mission_templates.txt and scripts.txt. And when playing, nothing happens before battle nor in encampment window. Did I made something wrong ?
And, to follow up on this, PBOD has the improved spear bracing code in it, too now.Sethwick 说:Hmm, I could probably do that, but it would involve wrestling with code. Items and scenes, yes.skullmasher 说:Is it true that floris-basic is basically an items-mod?
The troop tree would need to specify that it is compatible with Diplomacy. I know of two alternative troop trees that are compatible with Diplomacy, one is Pike&Blade and the other is made by RalliX. The alternative Floris-specific trees by pada and Frukox may work, too, but I have not tested them.skullmasher 说:And is it incompatible with existing troop-trees in conjunction with diplomacy?
Yes, see the Information thread on all of the mods within Floris Expanded. (The major gameplay feature mods included are Diplomacy, Custom Commander, and Pre-Battle Orders & Deployment.) In addition to mods, there are a number of separately released gameplay scripts and scripts written specifically for Floris that are included.skullmasher 说:Does floris-expanded come with dimpomacy + new troop-tree? If yes, is there a way to strip down the memory-heavy-elements (i have a 5yo pc)

Caba`drin 说:I know of two alternative troop trees that are compatible with Diplomacy, one is Pike&Blade and the other is made by RalliX.
[...]
Your other alternative would be to install Diplomacy+PBOD (with either Pike&Blade or RalliX's tree) or wait for Bismark to finalize the Native Mod Compilation (which will have Diplomacy, Custom Commander, PBOD and a custom troop tree) and then add Floris Basic to that.
Caba`drin 说:To strip down Floris Expanded, see the FAQ, specifically for the steps to remove all graphical enhancements. That is the best that can be done at this time.
Caba`drin 说:For 2.5, as we rework the code and break savegame compatibility, etc, we are planning on a new format for releasing Floris as well--one that has all of the gameplay features, without memory-intensive graphic enhancements and items--in order to accommodate players who are having memory and load errors with Floris. So, do stay tuned!

maybe you are right... those who want default can switch back as of now. I dont have much idea that how many of us like enhanced animation and when i saw it in FAQ i thought maybe more of us like old animation better. Well some of us are slave of habitsDuh 说:Why? That would just switch the workload of changing animations around.
Q: I don't like the Combat Animation Enhancements. How can I remove them?
Copy from native or your favorite mod 'skeletons.brf' to the Resource directory of this mod, and 'actions.txt' to the main mod directory, and say yes to overwrite. Then go to module.ini, and do the following:
Remove the following line:
load_mod_resource = mov_skeletons
Enable the following line again:
load_resource = skeletons
You should now have the old animations back.
The gameplay changes are only in Floris Expanded; Floris Basic contains new items/sounds/music/scenes.Resurr3ction 说:I have a question about this, is the merging restricted to mods listed in OP or can the Floris be merged with other mods too that way? I was thinking of merging Hundred Years War and Floris' as the former is not that heavy on gameplay changes (it does basically none) while Floris does not change the world (only looks) but adds tons of gameplay changes. Or are the gameplay changes restricted only to Extended version? I am currently downloading the Basic one to try it but would appreciate some clarification too. Thanks!

Combining anything with Floris Expanded is not recommended...it will likely not end well.
