I am getting troubles trying to work as a freelancer in lord armies. When you enlist I can get inot one of those situations:
- get to a screen to start a combat but no button to click (only option is to quit completly the game with alt+x)
- get a comabt screen where I am supposed to fight with the lord army but when the comabt starts, I am in his army and the combat stops after a few seconds, get back to the start combat screen and continu in endless loop like that (only option is to quit using alt+x)
- get a combat screen where I am supposed to fight with the lord army, when the comabt starts I have to fight his all army and get my ass kicked, I am taken prisoner but if I click anywhere in the world map, then I can chose to continu my duty and then it works fine.
Are all of these three things happening right when you enlist? If so, that bug has been fixed in our dev version, see:

If these things are happening while you are enlisted and are moving around the map, not right when you enlist, I need more details as to who you are fighting. Is it just your lord vs enemies? Is your lord helping others? Who is the enemy or the allies--a lord, a caravan, etc?

Thanks, that is the bug i was running into.  :razz:

Just a quick question about enlistment: when the lord you are fighting for loose and you get captured, is it normal to keep all your mercenary equipment when you escape? very nice but not very realistic  :roll: (that helps a lot to leave with a super equipement without quiting)

It is normal. There's no special code to force that equipment to be taken, so it has a % chance to be taken, just like all of your equipment/inventory any time you are captured. It's governed by that same code.

If you have suggestions on that, feel free to share, though a new thread on Freelancer or the Beta Ramblings thread would be a better place for that discussion.

Would be interested in hearing from you if you are getting what you think to be appropriate equipment when you get promoted...and if you feel like you are being promoted at a good speed (not too fast, not too slow), etc. (Again, either in a new thread or the linked thread above.) Cheers.
 
Do you want to do multiple threads for various main topics like:
- character creation
- troop tree
- enlistments
- "bank" landfield management
- etc...

I think it would be easier to read and find information  :wink: (for you and users/testers)
 
Well there are a number of diary feedback threads aimed at specific information.  Those work well for discussions on a given feature.  Like I'd love to hear what folks think about the new character creation system and if there are other changes they'd like to see.  Even other backgrounds etc.  Overall balance.

Or the tournament system changes.  How people feel about the difficulty level.  They are a pain initially, but ease up a fair bit as you gain in level.  This was what people wanted vs. a level scaled system though so I tried to keep it that way.  Bugs are the most important thing, but I think we're all eager to hear feedback on gameplay in general as well.
 
Suno seems to be missing the door to its arena.  I couldn't find it walking around, and using the menu to go the arena and leave through the door puts you in this wall

More amusing than an actual bug, the first time I tried a tournament I was awarded the Melee Master steam achievement, which in turn gave me the King Arthur achievement.  Thanks Windy!

Hehe...just your time to earn those.  But your comment did make me take a look at one I had accidentally made granted.  Medieval Times is being granted based on completing a tournament vs. winning it.  That is fixed for the next patch.  So in an indirect way, thanks!

Yes, if they are suggestion/balance type ideas. Character Creation, Tournament Enhancements, Banking, etc all each have their own threads already.

Ok, here is my first (and a bit lengthy) buglist:

I love the new character creation system! Only problem with it is the background description for Sense of Duty does not appear when you select it. I don't know if this is because you just haven't written it up yet or what. This was when I was creating a female character (have not tested it on male yet).

I also noticed a minor issue was in the tournament options menu. Sometimes when you hover over an item it will not display the info on what it means. Although its not very apparent from this screenshot, I was hovering my mouse over some of the options (the name as well as the tickbox) and sometimes it would not display.

The seafaring text is too hard to read. If you lightened the background by maybe 30% or so it should should be more legible. I love the background and wouldn't want it taken out, but it is slightly hard to read.

Food items do not display the moral modifier correctly at all. In fact it seems to change randomly between 0 and over 1000 every time you hover over it. I've seen this happen at multiple stores and in the looting screen.

Books seem to suffer a similar issue as food items. +1 to Nizar? wat. I'm not sure if this was only one book merchant. I didn't notice it when I was talking to the first book merchant I talked to, though that could've been because I wasn't paying close enough attention.

Not really a bug, just something I found amusing... why is Nizar so fat lol? I always thought of Nizar as this suave player/womanizer and it was pretty funny to see this chubby version of him. He slimmed down once I put him some armour on him though.

Finally, there are some minor spelling errors talking to Ghazwan when you first want to recruit him. Again not a bug but it is an area for polishing :razz: I'll put the corrections below so you can search the txt files with these strings. The errors are bolded as follows:
Greetings, my friend. Can I interest a fine youn lady like yourself in any of my small wares...

...My father ruled all the oasises south of the Sarranid lands, where peace and prosperity were in strong contrast to all the constant warfar that dominates Calradia...

...A loyal servant managed to smuggle me out of the chaos, only to die shortly after bringin me to this place...

[one of your responses] I bet you tell everyone such a story to receive a better eal. You don't fool me!
Here are the corrections if you need them:
youn = young
oasises = oases
warfar = warfare
bringin = bringing
eal = deal

Hope this helps quash some of those pesky buggers from an already awesome mod.



Edit: I thought these forums auto-resized the images for you but apparently that is not the case. If you guys prefer, I can replace the images with links to my steam screenshots.

This is indeed a bug and one I had thought fixed, but looking back it it I must have overwrote my own changes by accident.  This is now fixed for "sense of duty" and "religious fervor" backgrounds.  Good catch.

This isn't so much of a bug as how the module system handles a cursor entering / leaving an object on the presentation screen.  Sometimes it hasn't finished registering it left the last object before you enter the next so nothing happens.  This happens if you go too quick over an option, but the alternative was putting up some kind of minimum time delay before something gets overwritten which would make it so you could have moused over one item, stop on another and the info text would still show the first one.  Not really sure how to go about improving that system at the moment, but definitely wanted to keep the help text feature to explain each option.  Hopefully that guidance is useful.

First, a disclaimer. I imported an old character for this, and used the debug mode to conquer myself a town. Entirely possible that some of the bugs are caused by this, but just thought I'll report it anyway. Running Warband 1.143, Expanded Troop Tree.

Also, I've been consistently impressed with the superlative efforts and support of the Floris Mod team. Special mention goes to Caba'drin, who'll definitely win the Most Polite and Patient Modder Ever award if Taleworlds ever gives those out.

1. Minor matter, and not terribly visible in screenshots, but character shadows seem to have acquired a bluish tint. This wasn't present in 2.41a, Warband 1.134, but then again I don't have that installed anymore, so possibly a videocard issue.



2. Some of the ETT troops are supermen. I feel like I should be following them around with those stats. This is confirmed by talking to them from the party screen.



3. Selecting kingdom culture. Again, this is after conquering the town with debug mode.



4. Strangely inbred for a Calradian newcomer.



5. Probably a Diplomacy mod issue?



6. While on a ship, after cancelling a landing once, unable to land again until I clicked on the fishing option and waited for a day.

Somewhat bemused by the number of farmyard animal mounts in the item list. Is this going to be part of the Extra-Expanded Troop Tree?

7. Rhodok Lanciere Veterano upgrades to Lanza Spezzata. Lanciere a Cavallo doesn't upgrade to anything.

8. The new autoloot seems to have no way to let your companions take the loot, thus rendering Katrin useless once more. Also, no setting for minimum value of loot.

EDIT:

Addendum to 6. Was clicking on a coastal village to try and land there. Cancelled landing after viewing menu. Unable to land again afterwards when clicking on either sandy strips, cities, or villages.

9. Possibly cause of the troop tree reference disappearing. The two most recent two things I did before this error started was copying the new brf and rescuing some caravan guards and mercenary swordsmen (who don't have the I/A/C tags in front of their names) from a bandit group.



10. Menu options that don't seem to stick (resets when exit screen):
- Scale Renown in Tournaments.
- Dehorsed cavalry/Out of ammo archers in Mod Options.

11. Freelancer equipment resets to default on game load. Which might be a good thing, because the default Freelancer equipment disappears if you move it out of their inventory and closes the window.

12. Bank screen. Able to buy more land than is technically available, simply by reusing the top left slider. Results untested.

Thank you.  Folks have been doing a great job dealing with the bugs that crop up and helping us get the final release ready as well.  Something the team is grateful for.

Freelancer issues
Enlisted in Nord Kings army in Sargoth, worked until we got into our first battle, the only option i was able to click was charge the enemy, not take the field...
 
The kidnappers hideout doesnt despawn and will continue to generate new loot even after cleared out.

I have completed the rescue the brother quest, but told the merchant that I will talk to him later about leading his men.
 
Referring to the strange morale modifiers for food, I've noticed that they either display zero, or a number corresponding to one of the money values on the current screen. I've seen three different cases: my funds, the merchant's funds, or the total I have to pay/will receive. This number is then displayed as the modifier for any of the food items currently on the screen. Didn't think anyone else has pointed this out yet, so hopefully this can help you track down the error.


Also, when using the freelancer troops, it seems like the available equipment for the I2 freelancer militia should include some melee weaponry. Currently their loadout is for an archer and the only available melee weapons are sticks. Oddly enough, they're also defaulted to the archer control group.
 
On the topic of the "glow in the dark armor" that Rokem mentioned: there are several textures in the game that look REALLY bad, notably the quilted armor that Rokem took a screenshot of, but also the quiver for "Black Arrows", and a few other outfits for the Sarranids that are way too bright and have very little detail. They really stand out. Also, the armor the looters wear doesn't look too good, either. Not in the "I don't like the color" sense, but in the "this looks totally fake" sense. I think these textures should either be fixed or replaced with something else.

Also, somewhat hilariously, the textures for Sarranid Arrows and their quivers are reversed, meaning troops wear a single arrow and fire quivers full of arrows! It looks very funny after a siege, with quivers sticking out of the walls.

Can someone confirm whether women from the Sword Sister upgrade line are still able to recruiting in taverns? I haven't seen any yet. While I don't think it's realistic to have tons of women mercenaries wandering around, there doesn't seem to be any way to recruit "Refugee" women or any or the troops they upgrade into. (I have been training female horse archers by knocking out peasant women farmers and recruiting them to my party.)

I could get trumped here by Monnikje, but I don't think they're around any longer.  At least I haven't seen them during my own play testing.

Some background info: my character started in Sargoth as a preacher

Issues/oddities/possible bugs:

[*]Got a crash to desktop when I used a copy of a 2.41a save-game ("Load error: Number of Scenes in file: 649, exceeds 579")
[*]Not sure if this is a bug, but I'm able to go to the guild master of the starting city, even though I haven't searched him
[*]No one fled during the bar fight with the drunk.
[*]I encountered at least seven ladies in the lords hall of Sargoth, even though there isn't a party going on (or Konungr Ragnar is popular with the ladies)
[*]Major (personal) issue: I don't get this interpretation of tournaments (will disable it, got an error during the tournament though, see this screenshot

[*]Already known to you, but I want to confirm that relations are borked:
- NPC info screen: the "family"-information shows the relations of the character with throne-claimants and a lot of other NPC's, not just family
- In the above list there's a "Error Knight 1 1 wife should not appear ingame"-entry amongst the NPC's
- When inquiring with ladies on who they are, they all seem to answer "I am no relation to Konungr Ragnar"
[*]Even though fog of war is enabled (appearing and disappearing locations), the bridge inbetween Sargoth and Kwynn shows all the time.
[*]When declining to join someones army if you informed about enlisting in someone's army it'll automatically ask if there are any tasks.

Suggestions:

[*]The port-graphic in cities doesn't contrast enough with the words on top of it, it might cause problems to people with poor eyesight.
[*]My character is wearing a monks robe with a christian cross and I noticed in my characters introduction that he spread the word of "God" or something. Maybe a non-existing deity (and symbol) could be created to keep the game neutral?

We have fixed most of these bugs and continue to shorten the mighty evil list of annoyances you may be getting
while playing.

Remember to include screen-shots if you can of the error it will help us identify and more easily fix simple things.

If you come across a bug with no error message, such as text in the wrong place, bad hard to understand grammar, and or showing a name of something completely different while talking to someone (Such as showing the name Nizar where it should say a Castle or town).
Please at the very least include,
1. The name of the person you were talking to when you noticed this bug.
2. The exact text that you feel is wrong.
3.(OPTIONAL) How you feel the text should be reworded to be more easily understandable

With your continued help we can make this 2.5 release as bug free as possible!
