should there be flag bearers? i don't know if there were any in this time period but it would be cool to have them. well wasn't there flag bearers in Rome? then they should be in this time period too.

Yeah, if you hired a Flag Bearer your party morale would increase by a lot. He should have the banner in one hand and the sword in the other, almost like a shield that doesn't block.

Banner and gun would be a much better combo. The banner could be like some sort of boost item, anyone around it would have higher morale and fight harder.
