We've all seen it. It shouldn't be *all* that hard to do.

I just thought a picture would help nudge things along.

Oh yeah.
When you kill the rider of a horse from horseback, when one of your followers kills him, OR when you kill him from on foot but don't claim the horse, the horse will gradually turn grass-colored. To the eye, it looks like "fading away", but really it's just changing color. Then it becomes insubstantial.

When this happens in water, though, the game doesn't know that it doesn't blend in.

...I don't know what happens on rocky terrain, though. I haven't checked. Hmm...

As an addendum to this topic ... instead of "fading away", perhaps the horse could just vanish after the same amount of time?

It's incredibly annoying to be maneuvering about in a free-wheeling cavalry battle and suddenly have your horse rear up in dismay from crashing into a mount that's barely visible ...

If they're going to stick around, at least let us see where they are so we can avoid them.

Or maybe they could just keep going off the edge of a map. I'm pretty sure that once its rider is dead, the horse will have enough sense to get away from all the screaming, dying, and sharp pointy metal bits.

Armagan stated that sometime he might code it so horses that would otherwise fade out, just walk to the edge of the map and disappear. It would be neat, but it's very low on the agenda at the moment.

So, the legends are true. I'd always heard of the shrub horses and laughed them off as stories to amaze the gullible in the Zendar taverns.

Perhaps... Perhaps this should be in bug report...

And, yes I have seen it before too.

EDIT: 50th Post! Duh duddle leh duh duuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh!

Couldn't have made on a more dead thread... Damn!
