I have it but cannot remember how I did. Is that the mission you get fro mthe pilgrim in the ogre camp?

There's a warband near Dugan (i think thats what it's called). It is a different colour to all the other bandits so you'll spot it easily. If it's not there then i think theres another warband near southern scythe. I'm not sure which one has the holy armour and which has the fire staff.

Tintin 说:
How do you get a companion to use a fire staff? I give it to them and take off all their other weapons but then in battle they just use their fists.
I think you also have to give them ammunition for the weapon. While you can use a loaded weapon it seems the companions don't recognize that.
But don't ask me what kind of ammunition you need.

I tried that out with the staff you can buy and it worked as I described above.

I've done 2 quests: Find the holy staff of fire and find sacred armour. I've done both of them but when i go back to the people who gave me the quests they say have you done the quest yet and all i can say is no

Ah yes thats a  problem. Because the NPC´s can only look in your inventory the inactive one at the right side.

But if you have equipped an item -active inventory- the npc´s will think you dont have the item or done the quest. Sorry I dont know on how to make it better

I just remembered another small bug I noticed.
Dustum Khan is still the pretender to the (former) Khergit Khanate with unchanged conversations.

Nice and precise Bergpol its in the list

EDIT: May just be me, but when I opened the chest after defeating the chieftain, I get a item (avatar or something). I throw it on the ground and a unit spawns, and when I talk to him I try to click LMB, but I cannot get out of the "talking screen". Nothing works except to restart the game.

you can leave the dialoge window with press tab.!!!

at the first page I asked you not to talk with summoned units; sometimes it crashed the game in my tries!!                      ( just like using teleport or banish in my indoor scenes)[quote

but if it does not you can leave the dialoge window with press tab.!!!

Tintin 说:
I edited it so it has unlimited ammunition and they still won't use it

All summons and the staff of course are used by AI so compainions too I TRIED

Every weapon wich works like a: crossbow, bow , fireweapon or called-magic in here needs ammunition to be useable for AI exceptions are those who base on throwing weapons they are their own munition

I´m very sure you can find ammunition for fire staff at an dungeon. It´s well hidden
and called MANA
It is a badly overpowered weapon and I plan to edit an Inteligence-requirement for it as for the most magic stuff.

Edit1: both uploads are the second version since a week or some

This is sick

Not 'Bad this is painful sick'

But OMFG BBQ CRIKEL SMAKLE

the experiance of the open land dungeons is awsome, you get many many brownie points for this.

You've got some great ideas here.  The thing that ruins it for me is the struggle to survive at level 1.

I pop up on the Nord coast.  There are warbands of 24+ everywhere.  The Lords AI is not really reacting to them.  Sadly not even the Caravans are making it very far out of their cities.  I managed to have enough money to hire 8 Nord recruits.  I can't seem to find anything with less that 20 high ranking troops to fight.  Of course I am wiped and perma-deathed numerous times.  On one reload I get lucky and run into a group of 10 Crossbowmen.  I manage to win that one after several deaths in my group...and even carry a helmet away as a prize of war.  Some of my troops make it to Nord Archer status.  I figure that maybe I can take some of the mainly infantry warbands (and smaller warbands).  Nope.  Even the sea raiders slaughter me to a man regardless of how many arrows I pump into them.  I did manage to take 2 down but down I go and right to the little heaven blurb.

On another reload I spotted a dungeon.  I am not a novice player and figured I could take a single guy...maybe loot him...and run away valiantly.  So I stick my head into the hall and find out quickly that its not THAT kind of Dungeon...with goblins and loot and such.  Its an S&M club filled with angry Russel Crow impersonators with big point sticks who still manage to wail on me once I get inside their guard.  Where can I get a pike like that?  They swept my body out with the trash, lube, and broken beer bottles the next morning.

My suggestion here is to cut the warbands in half along the coast (you need a newbie area) or start the player with a 200 gold bonus just to get some angry farmers to boss around.  I had to decide on eating, paying the troops, or surviving combat.  These aren't choices easily made sadly.  The game sorely needs the mod where your troops fight on after you get dropped too.  It is certainly going to happen at low levels.

Don't get me wrong.  The rest of what I have seen is fantastic...which is troublesome.  I would really enjoy playing it without having to use cheats (cheats ruin the game IMHO).  Currently I expect to have to reload every 10 minutes tops.

Sorry if this message seems gruff but others have voiced the same feelings about the mod.  Its so deadly I just laugh about getting absolutely rolled instead of getting into the setting.  The rest of the work you've done is marvelous and looks to have taken a lot of effort.  I applaud you for it.  Mind you I couldn't mod my way out of a wet paper bag...but I have played most of what is out there and it could be a real contender for the top spot.  Just give the starting character a reach around?

The difficulty is indeed high, I've figured out a smart way of surviving: finding ongoing battles and join them.
Especially by the shore you'll find the 'crusaders' (= manhunters) and they will be fighting bandits.
So after a few fights with recruiting prisoners and getting some loot you're good to go.
Get a good horse and a lance and you can take down quite a few werewolves on your own.

But yes, it's hard - and stay away from Sea Raiders in particular, they're almost like huscarls.

I've now trained my horse to catch axes for me, so I'm always in supply

Good boy!

I was hoping to use a similar technique but the Nord Lords just aren't running these guys down.  I will reload and see if the AI changes.  That screen shot rocks.  My horse got an arrow in the brain this afternoon...but kept on truckin'.

Hey cloudcaptain
hope you´ll manage it with level 1 char and without cheating of course.

The tactic Adorno told you above is exactly how I made it.

No lords do not care much about outlaw parties you should follow templars near harington castle or the gothic invaders around the bridge next to sargoth. If you join their battles and survive them you may improve your loot skill also; and get xp and loot from these joined-battles.

The dungeons are more for char´s level 20 and higher as you described in your own wonderful words above!!!

Heya- tried this mod last week (the repository version), a few thoughts :

-> there isn't much to do for a lv 1 character - seems wherever you go there are only stacks of 40-50 ennemies around. Recruit more than 5-10 people and you can't outrun them... and most lords don't care about them, too. Sure, you can join the battle on the side of the gothic invaders, but depending on where you spawn finding them may take a while. Could use a pointer at the start or the game or something... but getting to lv20 or so doing only that ? boring. Would be interesting to have one or two low-level dungeons!

-> most "new" items have huge STR requirements, meaning the player character is probably the only one who'll be able to equip them. I understand that they're high-level items but since there are so many they take the place of regular items in shops...
Would also be nice to have a few more weapons that you can use while on a horse, since outside of dungeons, if you dismount you're dead.

-> the lords from the undead scourge sound just like any other lord... felt like they should have a different dialog (dunno if that's possible), something a bit more undead-y

So I imported a lv30 char to fight the new ennemies and try the dungeons.

First dungeon I tried was the ruins... still challenging for a fully geared lv30 char ! Dunno if the fog was intentional or just a random weather event but it was definitely interesting, what with only being able to see a few meters in front. Love the way the dungeons are constructed too, not too linear and not much backtracking involved. Nice setting - dunno why but the "chieftain" room reminded me of prince of persia.  The boss's dialog was a bit... weird ? And he fell with only two arrows... the guardians on the way there were much harder to kill !

Then went into the Dungeon near Reyvadin. Outdoors? Dungeon? Might be I missed something there  Spawned near a kind of village with... (surprise) a few dozen ennemies inside! Right after seein them a werewolf attacked from behind  Had to retry three times to kill them all. Long fights. I can understand why you're alone in dungeons but outdoors, it doesn't make any sense, plus, having to kill all 40 ennemies yourself is tedious. Could be some kind of challenge but, either you know how to do it and you can - and it's boring -, or you don't and you just get killed. (even when you're used to fighting alone against such odds, chances are one of the guardians WILL get a lucky hit, and those inflict an easy 60 damage even with the best armour I could find... ouch.) Anyway. After killing them all I looked around and only found healing stones - that you can't take with you outside of the scene and aren't much use if the ennemies one-shot the character (- AND you'd probably die if you stop and try to pick them up, unless you lure the ennemies faaar away, get rid of the mounted ennemies, and come back). No reward?  (once again, might be I missed something)

Went for the ?snowcoast? portal afterwards. Another nice indoors dungeon. Found a blue-ish glow that "behaves" like, say, a door or a npc when you point at it (lil box appears that reads "Talk" and "Spacebar", or "Enter Castle" and "Spacebar"...), ccept it only said "Go" and "." - didn't manage to activate it pressing any regular key (using an azerty keyboard). Used a door instead, that somehow sent me in an area circled by mountains with the salt mine and another dungeon. Guy wearing a black robe gave a quest in the salt mine (the dialog on this badly needs rewriting, I'd offer to help but english isn't my native language either :p). didn't find any way to get out of this area though, the door at the end of the Dungeon just sends me back there.

A small "glitch" I found was that ennemies can attack you through walls (also floors, staircases...) in dungeons if their weapon reaches far enough... yep. Undead pikemen. At least it doesn't happen with bowmen (phew). Guess it can't be helped, only way to avoid that would be putting pikesmen and guardians with the berserker axes only where a wall doesn't get between you and them.

--- overall really loved the indoor dungeons. Love to see more. Keep up the good work.

i told that in the last post there a dungeon you need to go to and survive there and there will be a chest with mana bolts that is like the annumtion of the fire staff

Nice spoiler Tintin ok I´ll check again but:

First summons are used by compainions ----------- :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:I tried yesterday :!: :!: :!: :!:

I m still almost sure at my point, so make sure the following:

-the fire staff can be used only with "mana" as munition nothing else

-I remember that it happend npc´s  didnt anything if they had no melee-weapon
I dont believe thats the problem but you may try out

- it is not usable form horse-back

So I´ll check out and bet with you for heavens mercy Tintin

I'm not bothered anymore. The fire staff keeps causing my game to crash. It'll be even worse if my companions have it working

That sounds like a very strange bug. Unless you by "Nords and etc..." mean the other 4 factions

Perhaps try and redownload the game, or go to 'the apothecary - technical support' and explain the problem in detail.
