Fighting online

Hi was wondering if theres any people out there who are good fighters. I thought i was because i really only played offline but now i went online and i block a hit from a guy with sword and shield and thats wot im using and i go to hit him but before i can swing hes hitting again. How do you all attack so fast its like a half swing almost that you keep pulling off till i lower my shield. And then with people using 2H swords theres nothing i can do and once you  destroy shield im dead.

Any tips or are they glitching or something.

They are not glitching, they just turn into strikes. Turn into strikes yourself, try to practice on duel servers.

I'd say that's half the truth. The other half is that they're better at timing their hits, meaning they start their second strike the moment they're able, while MGStewart hasn't found the window yet and is a quarter of a second behind.

Also, look up your ping. If you have a ping of 100 and your opponnent is 30, he have a little speed avantage.

This is called feinting, you cancel the attack mid swing using your block button and then attack again. Try having a read of the Infantry Primer sticky at the top of this forum, might answer more of your questions. Good luck.

Sounds like a feint, as IG_M said. If they do it a lot, just attack them again after they block - they'll feint instead of countering and you'll land a hit.

I thought Reapy (or someone) demonstrated that turning in wouldn't actually beat the delay from having an attack blocked?

Just turning don't help. Turning with movement on the other side ...

It's not really turning into the swing, but really hitting early on in the swing arc. Too early and you do no damage because of the weapon sweet spots, but really you almost want to keep players off to your left or right shoulder most of the time rather then straight in front of you. Also some people just do things faster then others. People swinging over and over again without blocking, aka spam, can still get lots of people, myself included plenty of times.
