Fief upgrade (maybe reading) speeds

The problem with sitting and waiting for the time to past is the moral of your party. The moral of your troops go down really fast. For example, i have 88 moral point when i am at Veluca. When i reach Wercheg 2 days later, my moral is now at 50.

So they need to reduce the building time and increase the time you keep a high moral. What do you need more than having a lot of good food, travelling around and helping the poor villagers. Do you think that victory against another war party with death of many soldier help to boost the moral that much ? I don`t think so. But doing quest should lower or raise your moral party depending on the quest.

Maybe to reduce the building time you could hire some farmer/peasant to help. Maybe you could use your own party member to help. War is not the only thing a soldier is made for.

Not to mention, if you have an army of 40 upgraded men and decide to sit on your ass for 3 or 4 weeks, it's going to cost you.

What happens when you run out of food, by the way?  Every time I get the message "Party has nothing to eat!" I quickly go buy (loot) some food.

I also think that some of the quests give you too much time to complete them.  "I NEED this letter delivered to [some guy]!  You have 40 days to do it."  A month to deliver a letter?

Damn, i was bored with all those days to build the manor, in real world it would be build in a few days by part of the village workforce.

hey, about 20 or 30 people can build a big house and a big barn in just one weekend (wooden), why does a whole village have to take 83 days to build a frigging manor.

is there only one person working ?

i wish there was a option to hire more hands or to let some of my men working on the village.

it shouldn't take more than 10 days.

Well, it is a manor.  That should take an appreciable length of time.

On another note, setting the timescale to 2x in module.ini really helped my enjoyment of the game in general, both for this and just general map travel.

Time skipping via waiting days in castle sieges and just camping isn't very well done, if you ask me. With camping you cannot wait for more than 3 days at a time before you automatically break camp. That's kind of annoying.

Another very irritating thing is that you have no warning when you're camping or waiting of approaching guys. Ever been waiting for a castle food stock to run out when all of a sudden they get refreshed to 30 days because a caravan came up in the middle of your "siege" and just walked by you and gave your enemy food? When waiting you have almost no chance to interfere. Additionally, when you left-click to get out of it, you automatically move.

I think left-clicking to exit waiting should just cancel it and leave the game paused for you to have a chance to look around. I also think you should be brought out of waiting in a half-waiting, half-paused state when you're waiting and another force approaches. I know that latter part could be annoying when waiting near villages and having farmers come by, but I wouldn't like anything to be excluded unless it was modded that way.

I dont have a problem with the build times being long. But your party being there whilst it happens reducing time taken to build would be good. Also paying for professional teams to help speed up things for a big cost would be good to. Fief's should give more building/customising options. Maybe even if you build enough you could upgrade it into a town . not as big as the main cities but still walled and has a tavern and a few merchants/military training abilities. Adjustable tax rates, working hours, rations etc that would affect morale/productivity would be nice to see to ^^.

totally agree with merentha and others on this

100+ days to build a tower, a school, dig a big hole and call it a pond. i mean, 6-12 builders can build a HOUSE, i mean proper small modern house in just over that time, electricity and  plumbing and painting, all that hoo haa. what would they have in M&B world but 4 walls a roof and floor. no work conditions so work ALL day EVERYDAY till it is done. i asked my brother in law who is a builder and he said only the lords manor could take a long time. since it will probably be big and grand and such. throw into this that since it is YOUR village, meaning you are lord, you would most likely have half the village building it, maybe even some of your 100+ soldiers. none of the things we can build in fiefs other then manor would take very long at all. maybe a week with that kind of man power and of course given good weather. it is all just wood don't forget.

were i wanting a watch tower, i would want it up ASAP. so i would build a quick and nasty structure that will work by tomorrow. and have men manning it. then given time i would improve it, but i want one for the village NOW,  so perhap it may take a week to build everything but the manor, and then they slowly get better with time as the workers improve it and extend. just a thought.

i wish i could see the things i build....

i hope in the next version those fief upgrades are visible.

I agree with the original poster. From a gameplay point of view, current build and read time are way too long.

into 903 it still takes 60 days to build a tower whit 10 enginer skill
wtf is wirng here?
this should just be 4 poles a plataform over them and a few fences at the side I whit 13 years old alone could build that.

I'd assume its more than a single watchtower, but more like a line of appropriate towers, with trained and designated watchers.  That takes a bit more time than you'd guess.  You also claim to be able to build that.  Ever tried?

(I don't know why I'm disagreeing with you, since you're only supporting my point.  I blame general cantankerousness.)

sucks to waste alot of time and money and not be able to see what i did.

and i wanna see the number of people living in my fief (like...10 families, 20 families, etc...or 100 people, 200 people, etc...).

I expect those things will be included someday. In the manage village menu there is already a section marked "population: N/A"
