Okay, so before 1.0.4 I couldn't handle the lack of aserai mamluke, so i found the workaround here, thanks, and changed the tribesman to recruit.
Tested this after one full reinstall due to a mod. Before changing .xml, worked fine. After that, impssible to load. Tried starting a new campaign, CTD too. So I reverted the change in the .xml, still nothing. I then proceeded to delete it and reacquire it through file validation on Steam, still nothing works, game launches fine but won't let me into a game. So I'd venture it is unsafe to edit the xml files, even if the change is legit, because it probably is tied to other files that it might mess up.
I've seen other people do this and be just fine though, so it might be just me, but there you go, is this normal ?
