Hi
I know many probably had this question before me
but seems like i cant find anything about it, so ill just ask.

1. what are the "smiting tools" are used for? (I also found Iron)
can i craft weapons/armor? if so how?

2. when i have a little army, do i need to have food it my inventory to feed them?
if so then what are the calculations for food consumption?

3. Ive noticed that i cant take over villages (or at least cant do so YET)
so the question is, is it just me or there is no such feature?

4. what can i do with cattle except just slaughtering it?

5. how do i take prisoners? it seems that all my battles end with the total death of my enemy
so... is there a way to ask them to, lets say, surrender?

6. can i assign leaders and to split my army? (so that it wont be just one huge army running around?)

7. what are those wierd "calls" when i click 1,2,3,4,5 and so on, it seems that they don't effect anything...?

Cheers

Nope. They're trade items, bought and sold at the goods merchant. (Also known as loot )
2. when i have a little army, do i need to have food it my inventory to feed them?

Yes. Everyone eats a unit of food each.
3. Ive noticed that i cant take over villages (or at least cant do so YET)

Villages are linked to towns or castles, taking their castle changes their side.
4. what can i do with cattle except just slaughtering it?
Nothing. It's occasionally needed for quests.
5. how do i take prisoners? it seems that all my battles end with the total death of my enemy

Blunt weapons. Hitting someone with a blunt weapon knocks them out rather than killing them.
6. can i assign leaders and to split my army? (so that it wont be just one huge army running around?)
In some mods yes, in native, no. However if you're elected Marshall of a faction or lead a rebellion with one of the claiments you'll be able to order Lords armies around, give them troops, etc.
7. what are those wierd "calls" when i click 1,2,3,4,5 and so on, it seems that they don't effect anything...?
Those are to select who your orders go to when you hit the f-keys. 1 is everyone, 2 is infantry, 3 is archers, 4 is cavalry, and 5 is the two you don't currently have selected. So pressing 3, then any of the order buttons will give that order to archers only.

Since I see red beat me to it, I'll just make some corrections:

2. Every 3 men you have eat 1 unit of food, every 14 in-game hours.

5. Addition: You can also run them over with a heavy horse a couple of times, that can knock them out aswell.

7. Addition: The actual commands are in the F1-F12 keyboard range, see Control settings for each of them.

cool thanks

P.S
is it me or the Normal difficulty is like impossible to play? ( i was beaten by a peasant with a stick.. )

If you just got started, it is a good idea to set the damage for you and your allies to minimum, but the AI to best.(it affects your troops, too - so it is better to leave that at the "highest") then you should visit a training camp and ask the trainer there for, well training. If you can beat the training, then you can start "for real".

You should also notice that you need "Prisoner Management" skill in order to take regular prisoners. You do not need this skill to be able to capture enemy lords.

You should also notice that food gives you morale bonus! Most I've accomplished is around 65 in food morale bonus. The consumption of food is not.. Locical.. This means that you can feed your army on only butter.. Or only honey.. They don't eat a bit bread with fish and meat.. If you know what I mean.. So, what type of food that is being eaten is completely random.

I personally love butter, so I always make sure we have butter in the party ; )

Actually you can capture only one lord over your max prisoner capacity

If you have one of each food item (they are 12 different ones), you got a morale bonus of +70. What they eat is not tottaly random, they tend to eat first what is at the top of your inventory list.
