I have a female swadian character who is currently not officially a vassal of Haralus but who has good relations with several Swadian Lords and the Kingdom itself. I was planning to marry into the nobility and into the faction after a while but its been frustrating because all of the good men either are not interested or are in a relationship with another lady. Ive been patient raising my relationship with the most eligible bachelors but then I read this from the single player manual thread:
"Cons:
-Despite being eligible for castles and towns, you'll never be able to select your own banner if you get into nobility by marrying, and you don't get your husband's banner either.
Pros:
-Storage chest.
-Personal army at your beck and call.
-Ability to arrange feasts."
Question 1: If I join the faction before I get married to a Lord in that faction do I still get all the pros listed above and still be able to keep my banner which I chose when I joined the faction?
Other questions:
2. When a Lord responds to a proposal for marriage with "I respect your bravery but you are not my ideal of grace and femininity" (not the exact words but the basic idea is the same) does that mean that the Lord who gives that response will NEVER accept any marriage proposal from you? If so then I can eliminate about half the single lords in the kingdom.
3. I am a very honorable character (refuses blood money, lets captured lords go free, refuses payment when rescuing villages), does this make it easier for me to marry Lords with certain personalities like Martial, Good Natured, Upstanding, Benefactor, or Custodian? Also does this change the way certain Lords will behave in the field, for example will a Good Natured or Upstanding Lord not go looting villages?
4. Speaking of personalities is there a way to find out a Lord's personality other than talking to them in private (incidentally does anyone else find it a bit silly that when you ask that they automatically assume you want to plot and scheme)?
5. Is there a way to check what the relationship between a Lord and a Lady is so I know how much rep I need with that Lord for him to agree to a marriage?
6. I found out when Warband first came out that when you get married your new in-laws treat you the same as before you were married to their son or in the case of a male character their daughter. Is this still the same way now or have they added new dialogue to the game that gives you a relationship boost with your in-laws (assuming they approve of the marriage) or is there now at least some new dialogue in which your inlaws reference the fact that you are in their family now instead of talking to you the same way as when you were a complete stranger?
Any additional advice on how to go about marrying a Lord in game as a female character or how to choose a good Lord to marry (what factors to consider like relationship to liege, family, rivals, fiefs owned, renowned, controversy, etc) would be greatly appreciated too if you have any perspective to add.
