"Gender inequality in 2020 is kinda suiciding (Even though it makes huge sense), even warband got some backlash, it was 10 years ago "
It is still correct
'A sight of a woman, who looks like a man, makes me wanna puke'.
The moment you add this sentence to the game, your game will get review bombed, sorry. This is how 2020 gaming industry works

Yeah, should they ever implement any sign of inequality, stupid SJW would've eaten TW alive, I guess. So, now we're playing a tolerant version of early medieval era.

Wait, seriously ?
There were actually different childhoods in the game at some point and they REMOVED them instead of adding, like in Warband, a checkbox "do you want equality or period-like sexism ?" ?

warband got absolutely zero backlash from anyone who wasn't insane. It's the same as how CK3 is full of extremely sexist language but nobody cares, because it's obviously part of the game and its storytelling.

It's not 2014 anymore, I have no idea why some of you guys still believe in the SJW boogieman. Taleworlds doesn't even listen to its own developers or beta testers, what makes you think they'll listen to a bunch of people on twitter with personality disorders?

CK3 is different, it takes part in the real world, and it is historically accurate (so-so). If you use Twitter, you'll get what I mean. If one popular Twitter user notices this, and post it like "This dudes made a fantastical world but added gender inequality" hundreds of "people" will go and give the game a 0, which will affect the sales (Believe me, people still unironically check metacritic scores)

This happens a lot. Mostly in Twitter (You know why)

Most of the events in CK are about becoming a vampire cannibal sith lord who fights an aztec invasion, it's anything but historically accurate. It's a funny scenario generator set in a rough approximation of western europe. I don't know why crazy people on twitter would reviewbomb bannerlord and not CK.

Also I am genuinely interested in seeing any actual examples of this reviewbombing you're talking about.

So? The overwhelming majority of game sales are made in the first six months after release (EA or not), with most of those being in the first month. The majority of people who will ever buy Bannerlord have already bought it at this point. In another six months, it'll be almost everyone. People trying to review bomb the game at this point are going to be ice skating uphill.

Oh, people have tried -- they just failed because Nobody Cares (tm).

You are underestimating how many people didn't buy this game because of the early access title. And it is always bad to have a negative score

The is no difference in stats, relations or fief gains. However there is, IMO a great benefit to playing as a female MC.

1 Male lords that are marriable are more plentiful and have better gear then female ones.
2 Female MC cannot die in child birth
3 Husband does not need to survive for 1.5 seasons to deliver babie.

With death enabled, you can easily harvest rare, otherwise unobtainable gear from husbands much easier then from wives.

The small down side is that female MC starting game at 30 Has a lower pregnancy chance then if a male MC married a 18yo Lady.
However making 4 or 5 is still easy. With effort I made 10.

Yes, CK has hardcore sexism. But also same CK has incest, polygamy and inappropriate abusing too.

I'm sorry but CK is not a good example.

I'm not. It is an unusual official release that outdoes the initial early access period.

That's what makes it a great example: nobody gives a **** about any of that.

If warband was sexist just to make it hard to play as female then playing male character would be easier, but playing as female was actually OP, marrying a powerfull count would pretty much give you a guaranteed ally everytime and you can use his troops.

Tell it to Ubisoft, EA, Warner Bros, Disney and other big companies, who add black /gay/trans character not because they are needed for the story telling, but because the nowadays agenda demands them to add such characters. They may be plain, boring, poor written, out of place, but they will always be there, because else the garbage like Polygon will say, the game/film is garbage (seriously, try reading their Witcher 3 review). So, there is a SJW bohemia and many companies listen to them rather then their players.

And Witcher 3 sold millions of copies regardless, so why do you care? Clearly no one else did.

Yes the advantage of husband's free garrison is a huge benefited in warband. Being able to rebel whenever you want and give husband more free garrisons(for you) is a huge advantage too.
Imo the female had better starting choices too because I want a max Int/Str char and low char, and getting 4 riding without having to have the agl is so good!

@Apocal,

Maybe that's why nobody gives a **** about any of that, because it's basically a medieval simcity vampire playthrough. Is it fun to play ? Yes. But it's (just like M&B games) inspired by history. Game (CK) does not need hardcore sexism. Nobody will bash their head for lack of hardcore sexism. It's a design choice.

Again, IMO, applying hardcore sexism or not is a design choice. Not for realism thirst. Bcs. both games are "inspired by history". Not based on. These gives studios more maneuvering room for their designs.

It's not bothers me. Both ways i'm okay for TW's choosed design.

I smell "super smash female issue topic vol. 2"

It's coming.

The reason they are doing this is because the american video game industry has an embarrassing history of racism and sexism both in the medium itself, and within the companies. They don't even have the excuse that hollywood had, where they were forced by law to have mostly straight white men in films from the 1930s until the 1960s. What's happening now is a very clumsy attempt to redress the balance. To suggest that they're doing this because of a few people on twitter is genuinely psychotic, these are multi billion dollar companies who make more money that hollywood and TV combined.

Also this line is hilarious:
Add black /gay/trans character not because they are needed for the story telling,

Video games are (still) full of poorly written white male characters, would you also demand that the writers replace them with black lesbians as well, since they "aren't needed for the story?"
When TLOU2 had a hamfisted transgender character in it, the appropriate reaction should be "this character is poorly written and should have less cringe character development" and not "a handful of twitter creeps with personality disorders are telling a multinational organisation what to do with their intellectual property". Lol jk, the irony is that the trans character in TLOU 2 was better written than almost any of the other characters.

Obviously the publishers care, or they wouldn't go to such length to fulfill quotas of minorities and remove any form of whatever may offend the SJW crusaders.

Maybe the developers will add the option like in vanilla Warband late into Early Access or after full release. There is severe lack of text dialogue in this game which makes it feel vapid. Hopefully they will hire some good writers that set dialogue that demonstrate a difference in male and female characters. The game isn't finish so who knows what surprises we will see. Maybe some characters could express views about gender that will satisfy gender politics. Another thing is when the original monarchs die there could be resistance from some lords for a Queen. So female characters could be more tomboyish while others are the extreme opposite there could even be a stat for this. Many things are possible through creative interesting writing.

Was that character even trans? I thought it was just a muscular woman
